Spiritually Lifting Experience: My True Story

Twenty-one years ago (although I can still remember it as clearly as if it were just yesterday), I had a very eye-opening experience. One which I didn't even share with my own family until many years later ~ mainly because I was afraid that they would think I was crazy! However, please allow me to reiterate, this is VERY MUCH a true story.

Back in 1990, I worked as the secretary and a part-time bartender for an organization called, "Neversink Gun Club." The "club" was started and built back in the late 1920's and has seen a lot of people come and go. In fact, many a former member and/or bartender experienced strange goings-on in the club building. Things such as lights being turned on and off when cleaning or setting up for the day when there was no one else in the building, seeing strange shadows and so forth while downstairs in the cooler, etc.

One Saturday evening, just after I had been working behind the bar all day, we had decided to close down early for lack of business. The only people left in the bar were me, my fiancee at the time, Mike, and his Aunt and Uncle. Before we left, his uncle said to us, "Hey, you guys wanna have a little fun? I will show what we used to do. We can levitate off of these chairs and I swear to God that it really works!"

Mike and I didn't really take it very seriously and I thought to myself, "Why not? Sounds interesting enough to me!" So we proceeded to grab a chair and place it in the middle of the floor. His uncle told me to sit on the chair and instructed everyone else to quietly walk around the chair three times and then carefully take their two fingers each and place them underneath my legs, slowly and gently lifting me up off of the chair while concentrating. I was raised about two feet up in the air with everyone's fingers still under me and, oddly enough, instead of freaking me out a feeling of exhilaration came over me ~ not fear at all!

Then, after slowly placing me back down on the chair again, we continued to lift his aunt and then Mike. Same thing happened each time.

A few years later, after I had met my husband, we were hanging out with some friends at their house and I was attempting to explain what had happend that night at the Club. So, we decieded to try it ourselves right there. But for some reason, it did not work. To this day, I truly believe that the reason it didn't is because on that night at Neversink Gun Club we had enlisted the help of the "spiritual" kind. I am at a loss as to any other explaination for it.

So in conclusion, all I can say about that night is that I know what I saw and it was an experience I will never forget!

  1. As a 12 year old - I organised some friends & we did this - it was way spooky at the time.
Oujia boards also caused a bit of concern...
sometimes you have to experience things to believe aye.

  2. I totally believe you. I have heard of this being done before, but have never seen it, or knew anyone who done it. I am glad it was a good experience for you, and it must be a really great memory. Maybe try it in Circle sometime?
