Tuesday this 'n' that ...

Well, here we are ... Samhain Eve and Halloween eve. Early this evening, I am dropping by my friends Deb and Dave's place to go visit her grandson, J.J. so I can give him his Halloween goodies ...

He likes fish so I picked up a couple of Finding Nemo plushes, some little juices, and a couple of cans of Wagon Wheel snacks he likes to eat.

I also have a small scarf and a card for Deb and Dave.

On Sunday, my mom found this handmade hard wood bench which my grandfather made when I was a kid. It was very dirty from sitting around in my mom's cellar for 40-some years, so I cleaned it up a bit and it is now sitting in the cats' room ...

Leo checking it out.

From our family to yours, BLESSED SAMHAIN & HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

A very Blessed Samhain!

Greetings everyone! This weekend my sister Aurora Skye and I held our yearly Samhain celebration. First, we went out for lunch then came back to begin our ritual. We  did; however, get a reminder from our dearly departed loved ones that they were indeed present and joining us. Before we got started, I told Aurora to get comfortable downstairs in the altar room as I needed to grab a couple of more things in the kitchen. After I had gotten downstairs to join her, she told me that when she got down to the altar room, she found a photo and a decorative lit candle knocked down on the floor with the photo turned around upside down. Now, mind you, no one had been downstairs since we had left to go out for lunch and those items had been set up for at least two weeks prior with no interruption. And, while we were taking some after ritual pics, my camera kept telling us, "Faces Detected." lol 😉

We added all of our memorial photo's to our Ancestor/Remembrance altar.

Love my sister to the moon and back! 😎

Our ritual libation.

After our ritual, we headed out to our High Priestess friend Lady Sabrina Rhiannon's house to join her in her ritual celebration ...

Her Samhain altar.

... and Remembrance altar.

Lady Sabrina Rhiannon gave us all these wonderful gifts in handmade bags which she decorated herself  ...
Samhain witch, pumpkin decoration and card.

Two Samhain recipes, Samhain incense, and scented candle tarts.

Aurora and I also exchanged special gifts to one another. She gave me this lovely glass pumpkin votive candle holder ...

This absolutely beautiful mermaid charm and card ...

And this awesome mermaid book! I just love it!! 💗

This is my Buddha scroll I picked from the cauldron during Lady Sabrina Rhiannon's ritual ceremony. It says, "The mind is everything. What you think you become."

Tuesday This and That ...

Good morning everyone. Not much happening here so far this week ... same old, same old!  I did get a chance to finally finish up the remainder of my yarn. These are the last of the scarfs I made ...

Soft White and Chestnut with Deep Red and Soft White tassels.

Jade

Chestnut and Pastel-colors (Lilac, Pink, and Teal)

(Lee Majors as Ash's dad ... what a great add to this show! Love it!)

Last night, we started watching the third season of the series  "Ash vs Evil Dead" (yes, we watch those shows in my house) - well, that and "Supernatural").  We also began watching the old re-runs on MeTV of the old "Night Gallery" series. My mom and I used to love that show when I was a kid.

Have a good day all!

Pumpkin Fest 2018

Yesterday I spent the day with my friend Deb in West Reading for the Pumpkin Fest. It was a beautiful day in the city and this was my first time attending this event.

A pumpkin totem pole.

Pumpkin carving all along the sidewalk.

We ate lunch at the West Reading Tavern. I had a delicious grilled chicken salad and a pumpkin spice mixed drink with a water and a slice of lemon on the side.

A captain statue inside the main dining area.

A bunch a great deals at dozens of awesome shops in town. I found a lovely tie-dye long sleeved long dress and some cool gemstones at a really neat shop called Allison Clothing Company.  They make their very own clothing!

Red Jasper, snowflake obsidian, and rhodonite.

A pretty little trinket box.

We also stopped into Curious on the Avenue were I took some pics of the outside of the store ...

They had a DJ on the front  porch of their store.

They were serving up free food and drinks for all their costumers - a yummy pumpkin dip with crackers, and cold cider.

I also bought a mermaid statue on sale.

Some goodies from the Zipf's Candy by Sweet Surprises store ...
Homemade cat-shaped sugar cookies with black sprinkles.

These are actually lip balm's which look like chocolate candies wrapped in wax paper. They smell great, too!

Another neat store called Earth Rhythms which sells musical instruments and ritual items.
Captain and Cider (Captain Morgan spiced rum, fresh apple cider, and cinnamon sugar rim) with a slice of apple from P.J. Whelihan's on the way home where Deb's beautiful daughter, Rayann was bar tending.

As for today, I am taking my mom out for lunch and then chilling out at home for the remainder of the evening.
