An important thought for today (and everyday)

Whether you’re waking up this morning with tears of sadness or tears of joy, please be mindful of the things you say. Please be mindful of the way you conduct yourself today. Please don’t throw away relationships with people over a difference in opinion. Please remember, we can coexist while having differing perspectives. People feel the way that they do for a reason. People are passionate about what they are passionate about due to a combination of factors including their upbringing, their religion, their traumas, and other life events that have led them to where they currently are. Please be kind, please show compassion, please confront others with love and understanding. This country needs less hate and more of an ability to have hard and uncomfortable conversations. We have the freedom of speech for a reason, but please don’t use that to put others down today.

  2. That's beautifully written and so true. I didn't mention a word about the election this year, because I knew I'd lose a lot of the people who read my blog (that happened to me during the 2016 election). This fierce sensitivity is rampant nowadays - - like a plague.
    Thanks for sharing this, Kim.

    1. I totally agree with you, Jon! I know that you and I are on the same page when it comes to the subject of politics. Social media (especially Facebook) is so horrible with the HATE. I could never understand WHY people who condemn everyone else of being hateful are just as hateful! They become what they say they themselves hate - which is HATE itself!

It is as if everyone thinks that it is their job to be "offended" by SOMETHING no matter what it is. And the "liberal" media does nothing but feed into this epidemic. It is no wonder that our country is in the shape it is in - very sad!!

      Thank you, Jon

  3. You are right on target. I always call this epidemic blind hate - - because most of the haters don't know WHY they're hating. They only believe the lies that the venomous media spews and repeat it like mindless robots.
I was SO tempted to write about this but I didn't dare. It's better to ignore the haters....and silently laugh at their ignorance.

  4. I'm glad you and Jon decided not to address the political firestorm. It's so refreshing NOT to read this. The media has really burned me out on politics. I rarely, if ever, talk about politics and religion...even to my friends. That's my business. Let's co-exist and move forward.
