The other half of a perfect balance

Six years ago when I first began writing this blog, my original train of thought was to create a free "mini website" of sorts with the intent of introducing wicca to those who wished to learn more about it - the general belief system, the sabbats, esbats and rites of passage, perhaps a bit of spell work and teachings of what I had learned from both experience and from my peers - some of whom had already had their own covens and organizations by that time.

It did not; however, take long for me to realize that an educational type blog was not enough. I soon realized that if you want people to be interested enough to follow your blog, you also need to share a lot more of yourself personally. That was something that did not come easy to me at first because I am a rather private person even though I am a people person at heart.

It was about that time when a pagan Greek fellow came into my life. He politely contacted me to ask me if he may share my post on The Wheel of the Year on his blog. Yup, you guessed it, it was none other than Dark Elf. We eventually became Facebook friends and began having conversations about wicca and paganism, history, etc.

As time when by, I began having less time to blog and I was also getting a bit bored with it all. It is difficult to come up with fresh and new ideas all of the time and then it hit me  - why not ask Dark Elf to join me? We understand where one another is coming from, and, I have learned much from him. I knew that he was a pagan and a scientist and that he was well educated. I, on the other hand, have only gotten as far as a high school diploma and I was pretty much self-taught as a solitary wiccan.

I personally feel that he is very much an asset to this blog and that his contributions are extremely relevant and important to its' purpose. I have heard many other wiccans state that "we all learn from one another" and I, too, believe this to be so. And so, I have asked Dark Elf to share in his own words a little more about his history and how he came to find his way to wicca and this blog ...

(Dark Elf):  When I was a little kid I had an obsession with science. Especially physics, astronomy, and space. I couldn't of course set up a nuclear reactor, or launch a rocket so I got involved in something I could: electricity. I had a lab in the house. People considered me strange and even crazy. Some supposed that maybe I was an alien. Truth is that besides this inclination I had no illusions. I was only a disabled kid. So I tried really hard to get a good cumulative score and the results were average. I entered the Science Faculty, Department of Mathematics and there was a real fight against the corrupt system. Though I tried to remain out of sight and not to start any revolution - I was very different back then - there had been problems with injustices and the like.

I met a professor of Applied Mathematics that helped me a lot and so I decided to enter the Sector of Applied Mathematics for a specialization study. I liked it very much and my scientific take-off started at that time. After a brief work in superconductor solitary waves, I entered the Lab of Chaos and Dynamics. I took my BSC with an equivalent grade of your B+ and then entered the Polytechnic Faculty, Department of Chemical Engineering, Applied Mathematics Sector for a PhD. I studied wave theory and finally got my PhD. I was teaching Computer Science and Numerical Analysis while I was there.

However, after a take-off there is always a landing... So after I got my PhD, I had trouble finding a position in the University. I worked in research but things weren't any good there but I did publish my works under my name and then left. I was listed in many biographical publications including:

Who’s Who in Science and Engineering”, Marquis Who’s Who, New Providence, New Jersey, USA;
2000 Outstanding Scientists of the 21st Century”, “2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century”, “Living Legends”, “A Lifetime of Achievement One Hundred” (100 names), “Great Lives”, International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England;
Great Minds of 21st Century” (1,000 names), “World Book of Knowledge” (500 names), “21st Century Genius” (500 names), American Biographical Institute, Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.

And, my 9 most important published works are:

1.   A. Charalambopoulos, G. Dassios and P. Ergatis, A small axisymmetric obstacle in the presence of an underwater point source field, J. Comp. Acoust. 5 (No 3) pp. 243–263 (1997).

I didn't want to use my disability but I had no other choice.  It's my belief that I was targeted and had no chance anyway. I don't wish to say more about that now but I promise you that you shall see a complete and sincere account of what happened at that time on MY blog so that I won't get my co-author into trouble.

At about the age of 27, I abandoned Christianity since the Bible was so unrealistic.  I happened at that time to see a movie, "The Mists of Avalon," and from there I learned of the Old Religion. I had studied it as much as I have studied Christianity. After some thought, I decided to follow Her (the Goddess).

I lost about 10 years of my life doing nothing. In an already very bad psychological condition, I experienced my father's death and a messed up family that he left behind. My life was destroyed and in complete darkness. Two more years passed and at that time I met Lady Morganna while searching for a Wheel of the Year for my blog, and the rest of the story is left to her. She and some other very few friends are slowly bringing back the light in my life. Now things seem better.

This and That

Greetings everyone and Happy Sunday to all of you. Not much interesting happening here as of late. Although I did have a nice little surprise birthday lunch thanks to my good friend of many years, Kiki. Yesterday, she treated me to a birthday lunch at Applebees this time. And, unbeknownst to me, she mentioned to our waitress that she was meeting me for my birthday and before I knew it, four lovely young gals came over to our table, handed me an ice cream sundae and sang "Happy Birthday" to me. Now, if you remember, this is the same friend who only two years ago took me to lunch at a local buffet and had arranged to have the restaurant announce "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" to me over the intercom system for all of the patrons to hear! Gotta love friends like that ... and, of course, I do! LOL!!

Me 'n' Kiki-girl - taken last month at her birthday lunch at Applebees.

My surprise birthday ice cream sundae ... mmm good!

Moving on, with Ostara coming up next month, my sister Aurora Skye and I are planning something new and special for our celebration. I can't tell you what it is just yet, but I will definitely post it for all of you who are curious.

I don't about you guys, but our weather here has been CRAZY! Keep in mind that we are in the middle of winter here in PA and all last week and into this weekend we had temperatures in the 70's! And, last night we had a thunderstorm of rain and wind mixed with hail. After all the damage caused by our last BIG hailstorm, I tend to shudder at the mere mention of that word anymore.

(Yup, those are balls of hail on the grass and the driveway)

Just a couple of pics from this morning's local newspaper of last night's storm damage in our area. Yet another reminder of exactly "who" is in charge.

Anyway, I hope you all have a blessed rest of the weekend!

The future of Paganism

According to a study by Dr. Kristin Aune, women in England are abandoning the christian church for Wicca with a rate of 50 thousand per year since 1990. The study had been done in 2010 and over 1 million women have abandoned the church for Wicca. The rate for men according to the same study is half the rate of women... i.e. it's 75 thousand persons per year.

Population of England is about 65 millions, so the 75 thousands per year gives a rate of 0.15 % per year. Not very great but it 's a good starting point.

If we are to survive, we must exploit the minority rights that are declared by the UN and adopted by the USA and the EU. Many of us believe that the simple religious neutrality law is sufficient to protect us. However many legal issues still exist, because legislation is made by christians and embeds their morality in it. So we need minority towns with schools that teach our religion and history that is not taught in christian supposedly religious neutral schools and with our local laws that reflect our morality. We also need them as centers to base our activities and for economical development.

This is entirely different than muslim shariah law, because we don't lock women up or behead people. We are much more liberal than christians are and we don't oppress anyone. We do not rape or force anybody to convert to us, we don't blow up people or buildings using suicide terrorists and we don't disturb by any way people that have no interest in us or business with us. Neopagans can brag that no war or violent incident can be attributed to them since Leland issued the "Gospel of Witches" back in the end of 19th century.

So if we have these minority towns where someone can live by pagan standards undisturbed, then the rate will definitely increase because now PEOPLE FEAR to officially declare their pagan beliefs for many reasons - because they live among christians and this will inflict consequences in job, family relations etc. Christians consider paganism  evil and  Satan's deceit to bring people to hell. They will never accept a pagan living among them. They may not say that because we have a democratic state based on the principles of Illumination but what they will do is a different story than what they say.

Minority towns are our mid-term future. Once we achieve that we shall have the financial power to support our people. People will stop fearing to officially become a Pagan and the increase rates will be greatly raised up. The towns will offer jobs in biological cultivation's, healthy food, health products, natural medicine and education and can economically develop.

It is my belief that Wicca and Earth worship will remain a religion for the "few wise" and most people will turn to polytheist worships - there will be a syncretic mix of all ancient gods together under the name of "Paganism" - Christianity being exposed for its vile past and lies will end up an unimportant minority cult waiting for the "End of the World" and Islam will be outlawed as a terrorist cult. Judaism will survive but will become a national minority religion only for the nation of Jews.

This polytheistic "Paganism" will become the outer circle with an inner circle being an occult initiatory religion-inside-a-religion based on Wicca and Earth Worship as two distinct paths inside it focusing in esoterism, witchcraft and "magic" work. This inner circle will provide the clerics, philosophers and leaders of the whole movement of Paganism.

Wicca is a transitional step from the abrahamic monotheism to the previous polytheist state that abrahamic barbarism has violently changed to a tyrannical monotheism. It teaches that there is also a Goddess in Heaven and not only a male God. It was the first and most important step to recover what was lost.

P.S. I hope this is a satisfying answer to my new friend Dora. :)

Throwback Thursday

(In memory of Pink Floyd's Syd Barrett for whom this song was written about. May his soul finally find peace.)

"And if the cloud bursts thunder in your ear, you shout but no one seems to hear. And when the band your in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon." ~ Roger Waters (Pink Floyd)

Animal Familiars

In some traditions of modern Paganism, including the various Wiccan paths, the concept of an animal familiar is incorporated into practice. Today, a familiar is often defined as an animal with whom we have a magical connection.

In some Scandinavian countries, familiars were associated with spirits of the land and nature. Fairies, dwarves, and other elemental beings were believed to inhabit the physical bodies of animals.

Once the Christian church came along, this practice went underground -- because any spirit other than an angel must be a demon. During the witch-hunt era, many domestic animals were killed because of their association with known witches and heretics. During the Salem witch trials, there is little account of the practice of animal familiars, although one man was charged with encouraging a dog to attack by way of magical means. The dog, interestingly enough, was tried, convicted, and hanged. Cat killings was also a common thing though it is officially denied by the mainstream history and this together with the demonization of personal hygiene practices as "satanic idolatry" led to the well known epidemics during the Middle Ages. In muslim countries, they are still killing animals as "demonic" and owners as "witches"...

Not everyone has, needs, or even wants a familiar. If you have an animal companion as a pet, such as a cat or dog, try working on strengthening your psychic connection with that animal. If an animal has appeared in your life unexpectedly -- such as a stray cat that appears regularly, for instance -- it's possible that it may have been drawn to you psychically.

This and That ...

Happy Saturday everyone! It has been one crazy busy week. We have had some snow and freezing temperatures BUT now this weekend it is back to temperatures in the 60's (not that I am complaining, mind you)!

We have had our usual holiday celebrations here: first, Imbolc and Groundhog Day, followed up with Lupercalia and Valentine's Day just this week ...

Then, of course the boring and mundane stuff such as yearly car inspections, dropping off paperwork for yearly income taxes to be completed at the accountant's office, blah, blah, blah. Between busy work weeks and family obligations every single weekend, it is a miracle that I get anything posted here on the blog. But, I do my best.

As for today, I will enjoy the beautiful weekend weather here and spend time with my mother on Sunday ~ having lunch and getting her out of the house which she very much looks forward to.
(I love this pic of my mom!)

Dark Elf and I are currently working on some posts to share with all of you (hopefully) sometime this week. Until next time, enjoy your weekend and ...

Not the status quo

Status Quo: (n.) The existing condition or state of affairs; usual

Needless to say, I have been practicing Wicca and Paganism for a very long time. One thing that I have noticed about many non-pagans (and even some who are pagan) is the perception of who we are and what we believe in as a collective. Now, first of all just let me say that I have never been a fan of labels or generalizing anyone's personal convictions and/or personal beliefs. We are all individuals and as such we do not all think alike and we do not all have the exact same views on subjects such as our religion/faith, politics, family decisions, etc., etc.

Speaking only for myself, I am not completely liberal nor conservative. I am a little of both actually. I am somewhat liberal in some things in my life and somewhat conservative in others. I do not like, nor particularly wish to be, categorized as thinking like everyone else (Wiccan or other) just because the "majority" may think a particular way about something.

I feel it is important that we all, as individuals, use our common sense and think for ourselves ... express our own views for our own personal reasons so long as those views do not impose on someone else's personal "rights." I do very strongly believe in both  The Wiccan Rede ("... and it harm none, do as you will") and The Threefold Law ("Ever mind the rule of three, What ye send out comes back to thee.")

To tell you the truth, I have never been what some may feel is the "status quo" in regards to anything in my life and my faith is most certainly no exception.

Sex, Lilith and Witchcraft - Part Two

( ... Continued from http://thewiccalife.blogspot.gr/2017/02/sex-lilith-and-witchcraft-part-one_13.html )

Imagine a highly educated, disobedient and sexual woman at high level of conciousness that is completely out of their control, she would be their worst nightmare! These women had been persecuted as witches in the middle ages. It's not just a mere bad fairy tale. It's theory, archetype embedding in the subconscious and of course practice.

The knowledgeable and independent women that refused to either get married and serve a man or serve the church as monks, were being targeted as witches. Actually the image of a witch flying on a broomstick is a mythological encoding of women using that broomstick as a sexual accessory. And the "flying" means the ascendance of the level of consciousness that was real and confirmed.

"The explicit implications of staff riding, and the sexual nature of witches in images throughout the Renaissance, are difficult to ignore. Artists like Albrecht Dürer and Hans Baldung depicted them naked. The witch in one engraving by the Italian artist Parmigianino is not riding a broom, but rather a gigantic, anatomically graphic phallus."
(Source: http://www.livescience.com/40828-why-witches-ride-broomsticks.html)

In previous posts elsewhere, I have shown how and why the Christian religion has been invented and designed by the Jew rabbis during the 1st and 2nd centuries. And I have shown how the Christians managed to dominate all the Roman Empire during 3rd and 4th centuries with bloody violence. Their church is LYING about "persecutions of Christians." During the 5th - 8th centuries there was the first "Witch Hunt." It began in 391 and it ended in 794.

Between 389-391 they emanated the infamous "Theodosian decrees," which established a practical ban on paganism; visits to the temples were forbidden, remaining Pagan holidays abolished, the eternal fire in the Temple of Vesta in the Roman Forum extinguished, the Vestal Virgins disbanded, auspices and witchcrafting punished.
(Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodosius_I#Proscription_of_Paganism)

"The Council of Paderborn in 785 explicitly outlawed the very belief in witches, and Charlemagne later confirmed the law. The Council of Frankfurt in 794, called by Charlemagne, was also very explicit in condemning "the persecution of alleged witches and wizards", calling the belief in witchcraft "superstitious," and ordering the death penalty for those who presume to burn witches."
(Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witch_hunt#Middle_Ages)

But when the "good" Christians realized that they hadn't exterminated all their "enemies" and that some of them were hidden and escaped them, a second witch hunt begun, mainly from 1480 to 1750 and the last "witches" execution happened in 1793 in Poland.

"A witch-hunt is a search for witches or evidence of witchcraft, often involving moral panic, mass hysteria and lynching, but in historical instances also legally sanctioned and involving official witchcraft trials. The classical period of witch hunts in Europe and North America falls into the Early Modern period or about 1480 to 1750, spanning the upheavals of the Reformation and the Thirty Years' War, resulting in an estimated 40,000 to 100,000 executions. The last executions of people convicted as witches in Europe took place in the 18th century. In the Kingdom of Great Britain, witchcraft ceased to be an act punishable by law with the Witchcraft Act of 1735. In Germany, sorcery remained punishable by law into the late 18th century. Contemporary witch-hunts are reported from Sub-Saharan Africa, India and Papua New Guinea. Official legislation against witchcraft is still found in Saudi Arabia and Cameroon."
(Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witch_hunt#Middle_Ages)

But it didn't entirely stop because the charges were just changed from "witchcraft" to "fraud." I have some doubts if charges for fraud are unjust in some cases because promises or threats of "witchcraft" can easily be used to seduce or scare naive people in order to get a lot of money from them. The easiest way is to claim that you will cast a "good luck" spell on them. Good or bad luck can't be accurately defined or measured. "Blessings" or "blessed charms" and "blessed" water or oil falls in this category of fraud, you can't objectively prove if they really worked or didn't work. That's why Gerald Gardner, the founder of Wicca prohibited ANY kind of reward for ALL kinds of magic work. In the 20th century the witch hunt was completely ended even in the form of anti-"fraud" laws.

Sex, Lilith and Witchcraft - Part One

Revelation 21:8 states “But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars–their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death”. Micah 5:11-12 says “I will tear down your walls and demolish your defenses. I will put an end to all witchcraft, and there will be no more fortune-tellers”. Leviticus 20:27 claims that “Men and women among you who act as mediums or who consult the spirits of the dead must be put to death by stoning. They are guilty of a capital offense.” And, Exodus (22:18) states, "Thou shalt not permit a sorceress to live." (Chery, 2015) (or "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." - King James Bible version).

There are also death penalties for a woman who has sex. Sex is also widely used in witchcraft, tantra and spirituality in general in the form of sacred ritual. Society having christian morality may condemn that as "sinful" and "immoral" but this can not stand for not even a few minutes of logical discussion.

When I want to explain anything, I always turn to science. So let's see what science has to say about that ...

"When you are sexually aroused, the Kundalini energy is activated. It rises up the spine, and as it approaches the brain, the sexual feelings become stronger and stronger. At this point, in most people, the energy reverses and takes a downward course seeking release though the genitals. Τhe human brain is still in an organic state of evolution toward higher levels of consciousness. The driving force of that evolution is the Kundalini energy.

When you are engaged in sexual activity, it's important that you relax and surrender completely to the feelings coming up. During this process there will be an increase of slow brain waves such as delta and theta waves. The stronger the waves, the more orgasmic energy you can hold in consciousness before it travels downward and spills over in the body in the form of release.

When you relax and open up during sexual stimulation, changes first take place in the etheric body. The Kundalini energy which is coiled up like a snake at the base of the spine in the root chakra starts to rise to higher levels passing through the chakras. Since Kundalini is the energy circuit in the etheric body (much as the blood vessels are the energy circuit in the physical body) the changes in energy initially take place in the etheric or emotional body.

If the person relaxes and surrenders to the pleasurable feelings, there will be physiological changes such as an increase of the parasympathetic activity in the Autonomic Nervous System. If you are not relaxed in the situation, the energy is blocked, possibly leading to frigidity and impotence. In case of relaxation and surrender, the brain changes its activity toward more alpha and theta waves. These changes indicate better access to the body and the feelings. Now, as the energy rises and increases its momentum, it’s important – through meditation - to hold the energy in that space of consciousness without releasing it.

When you get very close to orgasm, and the male gets close to release, the feelings will be overwhelming and the brain tends to shut down and reverse the energy which will then take a downward course and seek release through the genitals. These energy changes are mediated by a small structure deep in the brain called the hypothalamus which controls the balance of the Autonomic System (ANS).

According to a principle called reciprocal innervation, an extremely high activation of the frontal hypothalamus and thus of the parasympathetic system, will create an overflow of energy activating the posterior hypothalamus which stimulates the sympathetic nervous system. This will make the energy rise to higher centers and this process is accompanied by very fast activity in the EEG (beta and gamma wave frequencies up to at least 42Hz).

So, initially you will see very low frequencies when the energy is activated in the lower chakras. When the energy rises to the higher chakras, very fast frequencies will take over (see above brain map). The sexual feelings and the energy is now so overwhelming that most people cannot contain it anymore. Once more reciprocal innervation in the hypothalamus shifts the balance toward more parasympathetic activity. The brain's activity is shut down, and the energy takes a downward course. These changes are automatic and fast and will quickly lead to a depletion of the energy and in the male to release.

We believe that this EEG pattern (high amplitude, slow waves followed by high amplitude, fast waves) is the brain's signature of a total orgasm involving the whole body and all the chakras. In most people, however, we do not see this pattern, since they tend to have much less than total orgasms.

EEGs were obtained from three volunteer subjects (two men and one woman) who all reached sexual climax and Orgasm through masturbation. A 54-year-old woman described her orgasm as intense, almost overwhelming, involving all parts of her body and mind. Initially high amplitude 7 Hz theta appeared in the right frontal lobe. Within eight minutes, high amplitude, rhythmic activity within all EEG frequency bands spread to the whole scalp for about 30 seconds during orgasm. Immediately following orgasm all electrical activity seized for approximately five seconds after which it returned to normal."

This is part of a published work at a conference in Miami, 2001. In brief it says that when you have sex you get to a higher level of consciousness through the Kundalini energy. Kundalini was known to psychological science since Karl Yung. So what is really at discussion here is our level of consciousness. Neither our souls going to a supposed hell nor any supposed sins, These monotheist religions are especially designed to keep us humans at a low level of consciousness...

Let us now take a look at something else: the demonized women Lilith and Naamah. Lilith was Adam's first wife that did not want to obey him. Naamah was a daughter of Enoch, wife of Noah and the supposed first teacher in human history. They both supposedly ended up in hell and married the Devil.

But why did the Jewish clergy make demons of them? Because they feared what they represented: Disobedience and Knowledge. In these two people, the Jewish clergy have demonized the idea of an educated and free woman. It 's not about hell, fires, demons and devils but about the desired position of a woman in the society... Demons and devils are just used as scarecrows in their scare tactics and their psychological warfare.

Spiritual Healing and Medicine

USA is considered to be the first superpower and most advanced country on this planet, second to reach space after Russia and first on the Moon and Mars. The news that some ignorant parents left their two year old daughter to die because "god would heal her if that was his will" are fit for some African or middle-eastern third world country and NOT for USA. When I heard this news, I felt strange.

http://www.readingeagle.com/news/article/berks-couple-charged-in-death-of-2-year-old-daughter

Some liberals - and conservatives as well - have misunderstood the meaning of democracy. Democracy is to decide what to do - and ONLY that - by vote. Reality isn't democratic, a family can't vote to raise dad's wage, they can vote what to do with the existent money. People HAVE TO understand this fundamental fact. Similarly science isn't democratic, you don't vote on what is true and what is false. What is true and what is false is decided by the scientific method, well known to every scientist. Religious beliefs or any other "rights" or "freedoms" has absolutely NO PLACE here. Science has absolutely NO FREEDOM, it has MILITARY DISCIPLINE to this scientific method. Theory, mathematical modeling and experiment.

The scientist has absolutely no freedom of opinion if he can't prove what he says. Either he can prove what he says or he is a charlatan and a pseudo-scientist. There are many hypotheses that aren't yet proven neither correct nor wrong and this is okay. So progress the science, but they are mentioned as hypotheses and once they are proven wrong they are discarded and no votes can alter that...

Spiritual healing is widespread in the witches community as well as fanatical Christians' "god's healing." Spiritual healing isn't proven yet as true, nor its physical laws are yet discovered. Science CAN NOT accept that unless it can be proven with the standard clinical methods. And science is not democratic and no, you can't vote anywhere about that.

You can use the spiritual healing, crystals and whatever you like, but first you go to the doctor. It 's that simple.

Just an additional note by Lady Caer Morganna:

I would just like to add that I completely agree! I have been a certified Reiki II practitioner for many years now and we use reiki as an alternative healing method for pain control, relaxation and stress, minor aches and pains, etc. We were taught that Reiki can be used in conjunction with modern day medicine in most cases but NOT as an alternative on its' own to cure diseases such as cancer alone. These people were refusing to get their two year old daughter ANY kind of treatment because it went "against their religious beliefs."

These irresponsible "parents" used their religion as some kind of sick excuse to not protect their child KNOWING the risk they (and the clergy from their church who is also partially responsible for this horrific tragedy and should also have charges brought against them in my opinion) put this poor girl in!

Freedom of religion goes too far IF it puts someone else's (especially a child who can not protect themselves from harm) life in mortal danger!

Blessed Imbolc!!
