Fun Friday!

Happy Friday all! Last night, I enjoyed a very lovely dinner with my sister Aurora at Flanagan's Pub. I gave her her scarf and she said she really loved it. Our sweet friend and bartender, Meg was kind enough to snap this pic of us. :)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!

Throwback Thursday: Celebrating The Autumn Equinox

(originally posted on September 23, 2017)

Good evening, my friends! Just wanted to share  few pics from today's Mabon: Autumn Equinox celebration. As usual, my sister Robin (Aurora Skye), Dark Elf, and I got together for our personal group ritual.

Decorative spice-scented Mabon candle and herbal offering ...

My sister, Aurora Skye and me

For those of you who do not know, there is a seven hour time difference between the USA and Greece. We began our ritual at 4PM United States time which meant that it was already 11PM in Greece. We are always happy when Dark Elf can join us and always have a great time while in his company! Thank you, Dark Elf!!!

Brightest Blessings all!!!

Still busy

Greetings friends! I finally got the purple winter scarf done I have been wanting to crochet for my sister Aurora Skye. I hope she likes it.

I started it on Monday night ...

And I had finished the scarf last night ...
My sister really likes sparkly stuff, so I decided to use some light purple-colored yarn I had bought years ago and had laying around upstairs in the attic to add to the tassels ...

I attended the job fair yesterday and they kept a copy of my resume and references after they interviewed me. I am supposed to call them back on Friday for more information on job opportunities so we shall see how it goes. In the meantime, I am still applying for the online jobs listed on the UC website. They also send me emails of anything listed on their job search site. I use them since it is mandatory that I apply or attend a job fair regarding at least two jobs per week or else they will cut off all of my earned benefits! I am also required to keep a detailed log of every little thing I apply for because the State audits everyone all the time. I truly hate dealing with these a-holes and can not wait to get another job ... hopefully soon! Thank you to all of you who sent me best wishes on that front ... I really do appreciate all of your thoughtfulness.  :)

Oh yes, and I also had some leftover yarn from the fall pot holders so I used both to make another pot holder with a loop added to hang it with ...

I was so happy to get the chance to see Aurora's beautiful girl, Pumpkin when I went to visit her on Monday night. Love this kitty, she is the sweetest!

Monday odds and ends ...

Greetings, my friends! This is going to be another very busy week for me. Tomorrow I have a job fair to attend and my sister Aurora Skye is helping me big time with trying to format and update my resume to be in compliance with UC standards - and in order to make sure that when I send my resume electronically while applying for jobs online I use the correct Word software. This has been extremely difficult and very frustrating for me to say the very least and I am very blessed to have my sister in my life! I am truly lost without her.

Moving on, I finished the set of fall pot holders I wanted to crochet for her ...

Next, I indend to finally finish the purple winter scarf which I have been promising her for at least two years now! I will start on it tonight.

Sunday quick post ...

Happy Sunday everyone! Just a real quick post for today. Yesterday while out and about with my sister Aurora Skye, I found a few new items. I bought these books at Barnes & Noble ...

... and A.C. Moore had this cute black cat whose eyes light up on sale and a sweet little maneki neko cat charm at a store called Coventry Corners.

I also got a couple of small scans of  orange and black yarn to crochet a few pot holders for Aurora Skye and I.

Have a great day all!!

This and That ... and a warning!

Well, the tough job search is on and I have been working hard looking - sending resumes out (via both the internet and regular mail) here, there and everywhere, trying to find job fairs, etc.! No luck so far. The only place I heard from was a company called "Robert Half Financial" which I got off of the mandatory use of the PA Government site called "Career Link" that we are all forced to deal with here! The office personnel from Robert Half Financial called me last Friday afternoon to set up what they referred to as an "interview" which was scheduled for yesterday, but it turns out that they were not intending to see me for an actual interview for a job with them but they are really a temp agency! Are they serious? I only started receiving my temporary benefits ... and mind you, I most definitely earned this benefit as I worked for many, many years putting into it for others to use if they needed it! So I did not go to that "interview" as I NEED a full-time permanent job! I had dealt with many different temp agencies 14 years ago when I had no choice and they all were the worst experiences ever. There is no way I am giving up my UC benefits for job that will only last two weeks or (if I am lucky) a couple of months only to end up back at square one, no insurance at all, and no job yet again when the assignment is over!! Just not happening, folks!!

In the meantime, I am getting ready for any job interviews which I hope to have soon. I had to buy some new dress clothing because my old clothes no longer fit me any longer since I had lost a few pounds recently ...

Just an FYI: I do not know if any of you have experienced this terrible issue with any of your blogs, but the other day I had tried to access my cat blog called "The Cat Cottage" and a pop-up keeps showing up and from some widgetserver.com site. I do not know what to do to fix it and I even tried the suggestions I looked up on the Blogger help forum and I had asked around and no one can help me fix this problem. One of the biggest problems is that I CAN NOT even sign into my cat blog to access my dashboard to try to fix it because of this freaking pop-up message!! Why am I telling you this? Because if who ever did this hacks into my Wiccan Life blog or my mermaid and dragons blogs, you will you no longer see this blog either! So, if I disappear one day and do not post for a while, you will know why I am gone!!

And last but not least, here are a couple of new cat pics I took yesterday ...

Have a great day everyone!

Tabitha update ...

Since Tabby's two tooth extractions from her teeth cleaning last Wednesday, she seems to be healing up fairly well. She is eating okay and we have not seen any issues with her as of yet. The next thing we had to do was make an appointment with a cat groomer to get her horrible knots out of her coat. So this morning I called a place called, "Tails A Waggin'" and they happened to have a cancellation and were able to get her in for a grooming at 11:30 am.

The vet suggested we get her a lion cut but the groomer said she does not actually need that much fur shaved off so she took care of the bad areas. You can hardly tell she is missing much fur except perhaps for the back right side. She does not travel well and she is still not very happy with us for taking her out of her comfort zone a.k.a. the house, but she looks much better now!

That's what friends are for ...

Yesterday, my friend Deb asked me to help her make some food for her grandson J.J.'s first birthday party this afternoon. So we ran to A.C. Moore to pick up some different colored chocolate chips to melt for making chocolate covered pretzel sticks ...

We used bright white, red, and blue chips to drizzle over the top of the pretzels.

We also went to the grocery store to get some ingredients to make a chex mix and sloppy joes. J.J. was going to spend the night so she bought him a cute little stuffed race car to play with while we worked outside in the kitchen all evening. I melted the chocolate chips while she dipped and drizzled.

We just may need to treat ourselves to a strawberry daiquiri at P.J.'s sometime this week!

Fun Friday!

As I mentioned in my previous post, I had lunch yesterday with my beautiful God-daughter Kyli and her grandmother (and one of my oldest and dearest friends) Kiki at a place called Jumbo China Buffet ...

Kiki 'n' Kyli

I ate a little of this and a little of that ...

Kyli opening a special gift I brought for her. It was a birthday moon pendant ... coincidentally, both she and her grandma Kiki share the same moon ... a waxing crescent. How cool is THAT, right?

Big smile!

Catching up ... Kyli shared a wonderful photo album which she had created herself.

Kyli wearing her purple and white unicorn cameo that I made for her for her last birthday. Words can not describe how proud I am of this gal. I love her to the moon and back!

Have a blessed weekend, my friends!!
