Black Friday

Greetings everyone. I hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday! Thank you all for your kind Thanksgiving wishes - CJ, Jon, Paranormal John. It's now Black Friday - the day after the Thanksgiving holiday. I never go out on Black Friday because I would much rather keep my own family tradition of putting away all of the autumn decorations and bring out the winter/and Yule décor - save for the tree again this year due to lack of space in our little house. There are still at least 20 large bins of my mom's things I have yet to go through in order to make room for my own stuff. Perhaps the week of Christmas I will be able do something with them when I have a lot more time to do so.

Yesterday, we enjoyed a lovely family dinner with my in-laws. To express my  deep appreciation for everything they have done to help me get through the terrible ordeal with my mother and selling my family's house for her, my hubby and I gave them early Christmas gift baskets from Hickory Farms ...
I can never resist the Petits Fours - expensive, but DELICIOUS!
The flavors: Almond, Strawberry, Orange, and Mocha.
And, one of my favorite confections - Meltaway Mints also from Hickory Farms ...

A couple of snap shots from yesterday ...

Experimenting with holiday colors ....
Chanel colored mascara "Rouge Intense" using L'Oreal White Primer.
.
And, just for the fun of it, I combined Chanel colored mascara "Lilas" with Lime Crime's colored mascara "Nebula" to try and get a more pigmented color purple ...

New earrings from "The Mint Leaf" ...

And last but not least, some new pics of how the kitties are getting along with the new kid on the block ...

Have a great weekend, friends!

What's new

Blessed Sunday! Yesterday, I had the idea to use the little colored pouches I had saved to organize my gemstone jewelry by color -all of my necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, etc. I mainly grew tired of untangling my necklace chains every time I wanted to wear one and this helps a lot - amethyst, rose quartz, obsidian, aventurine, larimar, garnet, onyx, and other precious gemstones ...

I wear out many a pair of sneakers at work and once in a while I like to shop at our local "Plato's Closet" where I picked up this cool pair of sneakers with cats on them ...

This week will be a rather short week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. I work tomorrow and then have the rest of the work week off until next Monday. As usual, my husband and I will be having dinner at his cousin's house with my MIL. My family is gone and this will be the first year without my mom. It is going to be a tough one, but I will do my best to get through it.

On a much brighter note, I would like to wish everyone a very safe and Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it with their families! Love and Light ~

Weekend happenings

Well, the weekend has finally come around again. My husband is on call, but if we are able to we will spend our usual Saturday night at the Sinking Spring VFW for a delicious homemade dinner. We really enjoy the atmosphere. We get to hang out with a lot of good folks whom we now can call our friends ...

A rare photo op with our favorite bartender, Steve.

Walt and his youngest son, Billy taken last night with my new cell phone.

One of the things that I, personally, look forward to is dancing to the music on the CD jukebox player. Sometimes my gal friends and I dance to some fast grooves, but most of the time I enjoy dancing to the slower songs (mostly Motown from the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's) with my "dance partner" Walt - whose nickname is "Rabbit" - he loves the group "Jefferson Airplane"..

Every week, we try to come up with a new song to add to our dance list. So far, this is the music list ...

"Tracks of My Tears" - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles

"Ooh Baby Baby" - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles

"Twilight Time" - The Platters

"Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" - The Platters

"You Make Me Feel Brand New" - The Stylistics

"Betcha By Golly Wow" - The Stylistics

"Sad Eyes" - Robert John

"Still" - The Commodores

"Easy" - The Commodores

"Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time" - The Delfonics

"Please Don't Go" - KC & The Sunshine Band

"If You Don't Know Me By Now" - Simply Red

"It's Just a Matter of Time" - Randy Travis

"Stand By Me" - B.B. King

"Get Closer" - Seals & Croft

"Cry to Me" - Solomon Burke

"When I Need You - Leo Sayer

Another pic I took last night of Charlie with my new cell phone The pictures are not near as good as my usual digital camera, but I didn't buy it for the camera particularly.

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend all!!

Odds and Ends

Happy Friday all! Not much going on this weekend for a change. I am still trying figure out how to use my new cellphone, but my hubby is helping me as best he can. As I said before, I am "technologically challenged" so to speak so it will take a lot of time for me to get some kind of comfortability with it. 😕

I was off from work yesterday and am off today as well. Due to my work schedule, I usually only cook dinner on the weekends, but last night since I was home, I made chicken breast in the air fryer with a side dish of rotini with rosemary olive oil, and biscuit ...

It's what's for dinner.

I also spent the good part of my day chilling out with my "sidekick", Charlie who stays close to me ... 💗

Have a great weekend everyone!

This and That

Greetings all. Well, it has been a weekend of many challenges for me. First off, I can not get into my Yahoo email because I do not remember what the password was. I opened up the account back in the late 90's and only changed the password when they prompted me to, which was NOT very often. So, I had written it down the last time it was changed and when I tried to use it yesterday because for some reason they made me enter a password, the one I had written down did NOT work! JUST GREAT ... NOT. I had not signed out of it in a couple of years so and it should not ask me for a password!! And, the only recovery email I had was an old email address from when I worked at Traveler's Insurance Company which is no good anymore. And because, (in my opinion) technology sucks so badly and creates nothing but anxiety and even more stress in my life, I had to finally bite the bullet and buy a cheap cellphone in hopes that I could get a recovery code to reset my password with my new and only cellphone  ---- NOPE! Yahoo support was NO HELP what-so-ever. They made me scan my driver's license for verification, but then said that was not acceptable. WHAT??? It is a valid and active ID!! Gimme a break. I can now understand why people HATE Yahoo!! AND, if they did help me, I would have to pay a premium! They told us that we could try another time or open up a new Yahoo email account. Yeah, right. My husband then said to them, "If we are having such a hard time changing a password, then WHY would we want to open a new account with you?" It is complete and utter bull***t! It is a complete MESS.

Now, I have to change ALL of my accounts including my work info to my gmail account and pray that THAT account never gives me the problem Yahoo did. I was so frustrated yesterday, all I could do is cry. I can't stand modern technology seriously for a number of reasons - mainly because it so farrr too much of a pain in the ASS. I HATE IT ... period, and always will. 😠😠😠

Moving on, my Saturday was much better than my crappy Sunday. I spent the day with my friend Deb who wanted very badly to go shopping at "Hobby Lobby" where I got some holiday shopping done. Most of the holiday items were 50% off ...

Cat kitchen towels
A holiday cat dry towel.

Puzzle

Cups (plastic)
Jacks set
Holiday spatula

New pics of Charlie. He never leaves my side ...

An important thought for today (and everyday)

Whether you’re waking up this morning with tears of sadness or tears of joy, please be mindful of the things you say. Please be mindful of the way you conduct yourself today. Please don’t throw away relationships with people over a difference in opinion. Please remember, we can coexist while having differing perspectives. People feel the way that they do for a reason. People are passionate about what they are passionate about due to a combination of factors including their upbringing, their religion, their traumas, and other life events that have led them to where they currently are. Please be kind, please show compassion, please confront others with love and understanding. This country needs less hate and more of an ability to have hard and uncomfortable conversations. We have the freedom of speech for a reason, but please don’t use that to put others down today.

Odds and Ends

Greetings, friends! Another weekend come and gone way too quickly. However, my hubby and I made the best of it. Yesterday, we decided to have an early dinner at our local "Cracker Barrel" in order to use a gift card that he was given from his employer. I love their gift shop and as always I find lots of good stuff while there ...

Christmas Tree salt and pepper shaker set.
A Strawberry Soda Pop scented candle.

A set of Winnie the Pooh kitchen towels.

Some candy ...

.
And I had tried something a bit different, I ordered the Cinnamon Swirl French Toast with eggs and bacon from their breakfast anytime menu ...
.
Speaking of dinner, we also had the lasagna meal special at The Sinking Spring VFW on Saturday night. The chef was not there, but since he prepares his meal specials in advance, we were still able to order the DELICIOUS lasagna! ....

And, in honor of my mother who had battled breast cancer a few years ago, I decided to wear my pink cap with my Breast Cancer Awareness scrub as well.
I do not have any real tattoos on my body, but once in a while I love to wear the ones that can be taken off with rubbing alcohol ...
