Well, the weekend has finally come around again. My husband is on call, but if we are able to we will spend our usual Saturday night at the Sinking Spring VFW for a delicious homemade dinner. We really enjoy the atmosphere. We get to hang out with a lot of good folks whom we now can call our friends ...
One of the things that I, personally, look forward to is dancing to the music on the CD jukebox player. Sometimes my gal friends and I dance to some fast grooves, but most of the time I enjoy dancing to the slower songs (mostly Motown from the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's) with my "dance partner" Walt - whose nickname is "Rabbit" - he loves the group "Jefferson Airplane"..
Every week, we try to come up with a new song to add to our dance list. So far, this is the music list ...
"Tracks of My Tears" - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles
"Ooh Baby Baby" - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles
"Twilight Time" - The Platters
"Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" - The Platters
"You Make Me Feel Brand New" - The Stylistics
"Betcha By Golly Wow" - The Stylistics
"Sad Eyes" - Robert John
"Still" - The Commodores
"Easy" - The Commodores
"Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time" - The Delfonics
"Please Don't Go" - KC & The Sunshine Band
"If You Don't Know Me By Now" - Simply Red
"It's Just a Matter of Time" - Randy Travis
"Stand By Me" - B.B. King
"Get Closer" - Seals & Croft
"Cry to Me" - Solomon Burke
"When I Need You - Leo Sayer
Motown music! Now we're talking. That's what I grew up with and fell in love with. I was/am a huge fan of The Supremes and all the Motown girl groups. I was very lucky in that Mary Wilson of The Supremes and I were friends. She was a sweetheart. I was able to meet her numerous times and we corresponded. I was also friends with Betty Kelly of Martha and the Vandellas. We'd talk on the phone periodically and wrote each other. I have lots of signed pics from both of those wonderful ladies. Charlie is a cutie. Love pics of your kitties. We're to get some stinky weather here in Ohio soon. Yuk. Have a nice week.

DeleteYou have a great list of music. I nearly forgot some of them.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see Sweet Charlie. My cell phones never take really good photos. I loved my old digital camera, but I dropped it and it's never been the same.
Snow flurries this morning!!! Winter is arriving too soon. As if I didn't have enough problems.....
