Getting ready for Yule

As I mentioned before, my sister Aurora Skye and I are planning on holding our Yule celebration a bit early this year due to both our busy schedules. But first, an update on my mom. She will need to have a biopsy performed by her doctor to determine whether or not the calcification deposits found in her other breast are benign or malignant. She has another appointment scheduled for next week.

In my previous post, I told you all that I had an Angel tarot card reading done at Celtic Myth & Moonlight last Saturday afternoon. The reason I decided to try this is because I am currently having a lot of difficulties I need to work through and I am willing to be open to any guidance which may help me with clarity. The reading was pretty similar to a regular tarot card reading, except it  involved channeling the Angels and the reader used three different decks of tarot cards during the session. She was on point with quite a few things including my tendency to feel the need to control every situation around me due to my insecurity issues and a few other things that kind of "hit home" as well. Another difference between this type of reading for me was that it was mainly intended to show you what you needed to change in your life to make it better rather than the more detailed approach that regular tarot readings offer.

Last night, I began to ready the altar room for this Saturday's Yule ritual celebration ...

One item I found at Celtic Myth & Moonlight was an interesting felt mat to be used in pendulum divination. I thought I might try using it this weekend ...

I will have two weeks coming up this month due to a mandatory shut down at my job so I plan on cleaning up my books and a few other items and donating them to Celtic Myth & Moonlight. The owner is such a lovely lady and sets items which her patrons donate to her out in her store for her costumers to help themselves to for free!

Brightest Blessings all!

An Old Friend and One Beautiful Lady

Quite a few years ago, one of my good friends invited my hubby and I out to a bar to see and hear this really great local rock band called, "Kings & Queens." My friend said, "You gotta hear this band and the lead singer, Donna, reminds me so much of you. She talks about Wicca and she is "into" a lot of the same things as you. You just have to meet her!"

So when we arrived, my friend introduced me to the lead guitarist and singer, a really cool gal named Donna Nye. Donna and I had an instant connection and we immediately began talking to each other about this and that. We kept in contact throughout the years in spite of her very busy schedule. I visited her home from time to time and went to see her perform with her band whenever possible.

A pic of me 'n' Donna a few years ago showing off our new outfits at one of her shows. The top I was wearing looked much better on her and so I eventually gave it to her to wear  ~ LOL!

Donna, who is an extremely talented musician in her own right,  has written, arranged and recorded well over 100 songs that have been inspired by angelic vibration. In Donna's own words, "When I was writting these songs in that three year period, I wrote, arranged and recorded non stop. I'd be up at 3am with headphones on dancing around in the kitchen while I was doing the dishes listening to what I wrote and recorded that day. I would record for 8 hours straight. I was connected with something higher at that time and still am."

One of my fav pics of Donna. Just beautiful!

It comes as no surprise to me that Donna is also a reiki practitioner and, like me, she loves her fur babies! I feel very blessed to be able to count her as one of my friends. She is indeed a special woman and a beautiful individual to know. Thank you, Donna, for your wonderful friendship.

From the Heart

Today I received a very special little gift from a very special little girl., Kylianna. Kylie, as we call her, is the daughter of a good friend of mine and she is also one of my reiki clients as well. She is only 6 years old, loves school, her baby sister Kaylie, and candles ~ talk about a girl after my own heart!

She told her mommy that she wanted to get a Christmas present for her "Aunt Kimmy" and that she wanted to be sure to give it to me herself, personally. She very graciously picked out a beautiful gold-colored Angel candle holder for me "because she knows I love candles so much."

Every time her mommy comes over to my home for her reiki sessions, I always make sure to give Kylie a small, scented votive candle or the like. She looks forward to it so, and I just enjoy her company so much. I really adore this little girl. Thank you, my Kylie-girl and Merry Christmas to you and your whole family from your Auntie Kimmy!!!

"Come Holy Spirit, and fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your Devine Love. Send forth Your Spirit and they shall  be created and You shall renew the face of the Earth."

Angels

There was once a time had anyone asked me if I believed in "angels," I would have said to them, "I don't know ... not particularly." I never really had any convictions regarding the subject either way. I was taught by my Reiki Master to use the aid of the Archangels whenever performing reiki. As a matter of fact, I have a beautiful statue of an angel holding a star in her hands with stars and moons draped at her feet on my reiki altar.

Recently; however, I have had an experience which has caused me to revisit my "on the fence" view about their existence . I now can say in all sincerity - they really do exist!

A couple of evenings ago, my husband was out with a good friend of his at a local pub. Now, this particular establishment is heavily frequented by college students - many of whom are the most arrogant and obnoxious group of young people you will ever meet. My husband was drinking his second beer when he got up to use the men's room. According to his friend, about 5 minutes after my husband returned to their table, he began to act strangely tired all of the sudden. When his friend asked him about this, my husband replied that he was probably just tired because he had been up since 4:30a.m. that morning. Thinking nothing more of the matter, they both decided to leave and go home. Unbeknowst to anyone at the time, my husband's beer had been drugged at some point earlier that evening at the pub. He became disoriented while driving and ended up in a very treacherous part of the city. Dazed and confused,  he was eventually found wandering around the dangerous streets by the police and without his car!

The next thing I knew, the police were at my front door. They had brought him home, unecessarily handcuffed at that, adding that my husband was "lucky he wasn't killed!" About an hour later, after the drug had worn off, he became violently sick and still remembered nothing about the incident.

The next morning we decided to look for the car - expecting it would have either been stolen or vandalized. Amanzingly, everything was still intact - husband AND car!

When I think back on the chain of events of that horribly scarey night, I realize that "luck" had absolutely nothing to do with the way things had turned out. I have never been the sort of person who believes in coincidence and I truly believe that everything happens for a reason - not by chance!

This particular experience has prompted me to do some further reseach about angels and where they came form. I found out that angels actually do not have their origins in Christianity. They were, in fact, written in Hebrew scripture years before the Christians adopted them. They are messengers of God in both religions none-the-less. Their Wiccan correspondences lie with the Archangels and they are Michael (South/Fire), Rafael (East/Air), Ariel (North/Earth) and Gabriel (West/Water).

Although I still do not beleive that angels have wings or look like little cherubs, I now know in my heart that they are real. They are protective entities that look out for each and every one of us when we truly need them most. They are, literally speaking, "Guardian Angels!"
