Fun Friday!

Greetings, friends! My deepest apologies for my absence the past few weeks. I have been working A LOT of mandatory overtime at work and have had very little time to catch up on the blogs I follow or even to publish any posts on my own blog. I hope to be able to update all of you sometime this weekend as we are getting at least one weekend reprieve.

In the meantime, I will leave you all with a few music videos from my favorite movies. The first one (above) is from the movie remake, "Unfailthfully Yours" starring the both comedically AND musically talented Dudley Moore (and yes he actually DID play the violin in this scene!), Armand Assante, and Nastassja Kinski.

And finally, one of my all-time favorite videos (although not from a movie, to my knowledge) is an excellent performance of the late, great Roy Clark (playing the fiddle) and a young 12 year  old Jimmy Henley (playing the banjo) on "Orange Blossom Special"! Now, because, unfortunately, this wonderful video performance has been changed so it can not be shared here (as with so many other YouTube videos - GRRRR) so I had to share it from a different source and in a different format as I had planned (if you wish to skip the "chit chat" part of this video please forward to the time of 6:24). Trust me, it is well worth the watch! ENJOY!

  1. Glad to see your face in the ether. Not a fan of Tom Cruise, but I love Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock n' Roll. Even better when Seger and the Silver Bullet Band played it live in concert. Enjoy your weekend off.

  2. Welcome back! My favorite is Diana Ross. Growing up with Motown and The Supremes I tilt that way! LOL. I'm a huge girl group fan anyhow.
How are the kitties? Enjoy the autumn, though it sounds like you're working really a lot these day. Whew. Try to get some 'me time' thrown into the mix soon.

    1. Thanks, John and it is great to hear from you! Hope you are doing well!

Yes, as you already know, I also "tilt" that way. Motown music will always be my all-time favorite genre!

The kitties are doing just fine, thank you so much for asking! We are actually working on another rescue from outside (more about that in an up-coming post).

And I am definitely enjoying the autumn weather - MY FAV time of the year!

      Take care and Brightest Blessings!

  3. I'm sorry that you're tied up with overtime!
I never saw Unfaithfully Yours, but I liked the violin duet. I never knew Dudley Moore played the violin that well.
You picked a lot of good videos. "Evergreen" brings back some good memories in California associated with that song.

    1. Thanks, Jon! There are so very many great movie music songs from "way back in my day". Dudley Moore was quite an accomplished musician and composer. In fact, he studied piano, violin, harpsichord, and organ in his youth. Personally, I always thought he was simply adorable! : - D
