Greetings, all! I hope you had a very blessed day! With my side of the family no longer with us, my hubby and I spent the day with my MIL and had a holiday dinner as per usual. We cooked a ham, seasoned potatoes, and had corn as a side dish. I think about my parents every single day of my life, so today I decided the only way I could honor them was to wear a cameo pendant locket with their pictures inside, keeping them close to my heart ...
Some pics from my MIL's house ...
My hubby surprised me with these special gifts ...
A mermaid shower mat to go with our nautical themed bathroom and a pretty pair of mermaid earrings ...And, the kitties got a little treat "Thanks!" to my hubby's cousin and her family ... 💓
A couple of pics of our fur babies before we left for the day ...

You still have lots of celebrating to do. The season isn't over until 12th night (Jan 5 or 6 depending how you count the 12 days of Christmas). Some even continue the celebration until Candlemas (Feb 2., Imbolc?) I love your Ink wreath so very pretty. Your locket is beautiful and precious with the pics of your parents. We're supposed to get some of that nasty snow. You? Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, CJ! Yes, Imbolc/Imbolg (the spelling depends upon which tradition you celebrate). Candlemas is actually an ancient Christian festival (Candle night/eve). I happen to love them all. I, personally, celebrate Imbolc/Imbolg because it is a pre-Spring holiday honoring the Triple Goddess Brigit and urging the return of the Sun.
DeleteYup, we are also expecting snow - 2-4 inches beginning around 4pm today then changing to an icy rain later on tonight.
Stay safe and warm and have a great weekend!
I'm glad that you had a nice dinner. The mermaid earrings are pretty
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel about your parents - - I also think of mine every day. I dream of my mother very often and I talk to her.
The locket with your parent's photos is absolutely beautiful, keeping them close to your heart is such a touching sentiment.
Hopefully you can relax this weekend and keep warm and cozy.
