Weekend Happenings

Blessed Sunday everyone! Well, first off, an UPDATE on Miss Ginger ...

I was supposed to work yet ANOTHER Saturday of mandatory overtime yesterday but, we had to take Miss Ginger to Pet Urgent Care because she would not eat for us for almost two days! They checked her out, asked many questions, and sent her home with two meds - 16mg of Cerenia (for upset stomach) and 4mg of Ondansetron (to help induce her appetite). So far she is eating okay ...

The down side? I am now forced to work ANOTHER 4 fricken Saturday's because my a-hole employer penalizes you for not working THREE Saturday's in a row in order to EARN what they call a "1 in 4" (meaning you HAVE to work three consecutive SATURDAY'S TO GET ONE OFF without punishment!). 😠

Moving on, last night I received a very encouraging and humbling message from my long-time "sister of the craft" and close friend, Willow. She and her husband had recently moved and she had this to say:

"We have moved deep in to Appalachia, deep in to the wilds. I

I can forage my heart out right outside my front door. And I can go
days without seeing people!
Aiden brought us here. He bridged every hurdle we faced. Opened every door.
I am a simple  forest witch. What I was always meant to be. What you
brought to life for me 30 years ago. And there isn’t one witchy thing
I do that isn’t influenced by your hand and heart."  💕

(BTW, Aiden was their adopted son who had sadly passed away just over a year ago.)

In addition to that, I had a chance to talk to my twin soul, Rhiannon last night and we were able catch up on what has been new in our lives. 👌

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend all!!

TBT: Mom's Vintage Halloween Treasures

A few years ago, my mom found some of her old vintage Halloween decorations while poking around up in her attic. She had them nicely and neatly tucked away carefully in a plastic storage bag. She asked me if I wanted them. Of course I wanted them! They are, and were, wonderful and memorable treasures from my childhood which I hold so near and dear to my heart ...

The moving Skelton she always hung in the middle of our living room.

Along with the other vintage decorations, she also passed on to me "Witchy Poo" ...

When my mom worked at Boscov's Department Store all those many years ago, she bought a witch lamp and every year, she would bring out "Witchy-Poo." My mom actually called her that because at the time the children's television show, "H.R. Puff 'n' Stuff'" was popular and so was the character of "Witchy-Poo." Anyhow, I inherited Witchy Poo as well so I suppose one could call her the "family witch"?

She also found a couple of my dad's old Army pics from when he was stationed in Italy. I plan on using these pics to display next to our altar for this year's Samhain ...
Miss you each and every day, dad!

This and That

Greetings, friends! Last weekend I had a very rare Saturday off from the mandatory overtime. The weather was  beautiful and so my seester and I enjoyed the day having lunch and going shopping!

We went to The Mint Leaf where I found these little treasures ...

A battery operated candle with built in timer and candle holder ... 🕯

Picked up these delicious frosted sugar cookies at Target ...

And, this cute crocheted hair barrette to wear with my new pink sweater ...

At ULTA Beauty, I couldn't resist these two new colored mascaras from Benefit Bad Gal ...

"Electric Purple" ...

and "Pump'd Up Teal" ...

In other news, we have had Ginger to the vet this past Monday as she has not been able to keep her food down for more than a few hours a day. The vet is having a difficult time diagnosing her as her blood tests and x-rays came back normal. We are currently keeping an eye on her and the next step would be to have an ultrasound performed on her ...

Have a wonderful week all!!!

This and That

Greetings, friends. Well, it has been quite a rollercoaster of a week! Beginning last Monday, we had Bath Fitters come out to repair our bathroom shower ...

In addition to that, my hubby replaced the exhaust fan in our bathroom ...

Then, I received the news about my only first cousin on my dad's side of my family had passed away at the age of 66. He had medical issues for the past 30 years or so and I was aware of that; however, I had never imagined in my wildest dreams that he would leave this world so soon. He passed away of lung cancer.

On top of that, one of my closest of friends (my Reiki Master as well as my Wiccan High Priestess) husband had also passed away of cancer. Very sad and my heart goes out to her and her entire family ...

"We thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday and days before that too. We think of you in silence. We often speak your name. All we have are your memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake with which we will never part. God has you in His keeping, we have you in our hearts."

Moving on, I finally had my hair cut and styled yesterday ... 😉
I colored it myself a week before my hair appointment.

Have a wonderful week, everyone!
