The Covenant of the Goddess is a recognized nationwide Wiccan Church. They put on their Facebook page a good anniversary article in the memory of the innocent victims of Salem's Witch Trials. I have to remind that even a dog was hanged in the frame of this paranoid hysteria...
A sad time in American history and proof of how dangerous mass hysteria can be. It was also a way of taking over someone's property that the judges and higher officials found covetous~~~
ReplyDeleteI don't believe it is actually "American" history but rather English history. The Americans wasn't in charge back then and when they were in charge, they established a religionless secular state with a constitution that is admired to our days...
