Labor Day Weekend

Happy Friday everyone! Well, it's Labor Day weekend and autumn is on its' way!! We still have the ungodly heat and humidity here although we have had a night or two of 60-some degrees by 10:30pm in the evening which is unusual for the month of August.

We were finally able to make an appointment at our vet for Charlie to get checked out on September 23rd. We are praying that he is healthy and does not have Fel-Leuk. He is currently still residing downstairs in the holding cage, but he is handling it very well. He loves to be petted and is such a little sweetheart! ...

Kitty hand butts!

Surprisingly, I am off of work for the next five days. My employer decided to offer us TOST days - meaning that we have a very rare chance to take a day off (in this case two days off not including the Labor Day paid holiday and the weekend) without pay. So, I will not have to go back to work until next Wednesday - Thank God!!

We also received our tickets in the mail for "The Jersey Boys" show at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre on September 23rd. This is my husband's wedding anniversary gift to me as our anniversary is next month.

As for the rest of the holiday weekend, I would like to clean up and organize around the house. I also need to bag up a lot of clothing, shoes, and things to drop off at our local Goodwill Store if possible.

Have a great weekend all!

Technical Difficulties

Greetings, friends! I had not been able to post at all this week due to the fact that my crazy kitty, Teddy, once again chewed up my laptop charger cord. My husband had to order another one off of EBAY (he actually ordered two this time) ...

The accused.
The damage. lol

Yesterday, my sister and I enjoyed a girls day out. We had lunch then went shopping. This is a great time of the year to look for seasonal and holiday decorations, etc.

These wooden black cat decorations - my husband came up with the idea to use them to adorn the picture frames in the living room ...

A cute pair of clay pumpkin earrings ...

A pretty handmade butterfly necklace ...

I loved the color of this fall sweater!

We stopped off at the Yankee Candle Store where they were having a 25% off sale on all of their fall and holiday items ...

A new holiday lumalid for the large candles ...

AND, this really cute ceramic candle holder! ...

And of course we love to frequent our local Ulta Store ...

A new product from Ulta - "Blueberry" colored mascara ...

My husband ordered tickets for us to see "Jersey Boys" at The Dutch Apple Theater in September for our anniversary. For those who do not know what this show is about, it is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. GREAT MUSIC from a fantastic era ...

This and That

Blessed Sunday, friends. It was a very busy Saturday for us.  First of all, my MIL was admitted into The Reading Hospital on Friday afternoon. She apparently slipped and fell while walking from the kitchen to the living and broke her right shoulder bone. She will be in for a couple of more days then she will be discharged to rehab. My husband's cousin and his wife drove from Baltimore, Maryland to deliver her these beautiful flowers ...

She has a room with a view so to speak as you can see the emergency helicopter landing station atop of the hospital building...

This is the lit tower of the Admissions Building. It has been a dreary, gloomy weekend here in Reading, PA so this is not the best pic of it.

My husband and I had a nice lunch at Applebees in Wyomissing. I had a refreshing drink called a "Shark Bowl".

My husband and I were unable to attend the Sinking Spring VFW Members Appreciation Day, but I was told that my basket of wreaths were a big hit.

I had a chance to meet the woman who won them when we went to the VFW for dinner later on and she came up to me and gave me a huge hug. The pic below is of Jenelle who put together the basket and displayed the wreaths nicely ...

In other news, Butterscotch had what think was feline dermatitis. I used refined coconut oil for a couple of days to rub under his chin where the patch was. Coconut oil is safe for cats (used as an exfoliant) and it seems to be working very well. His patch is almost gone already! ...

What's Happening

First off, I did not get the job at UGI. I received an email yesterday afternoon informing me that "after careful consideration", blah, blah, blah. Yes folks, AGE DESCRIMINATION is alive and well in Reading, Pennsylvania!

Moving on, this coming Saturday is the Sinking Spring VFW's Membership Appreciation Day. It will be closed to non-members as will be the kitchen. The VFW will be treating all members to food and drinks (soda, water, etc.). While my husband and I were cleaning up downstairs yesterday, I came up with the idea to donate some of my handmade wreaths to the VFW to raffle off or do whatever they wished with them. These are the ones I am giving to them to use ...

In other news, last night we were able to get Charlie in the holding cage. As expected, he is not happy, but we need to keep him separated from the rest of the cats until my husband can make an appointment with our vet. IF he checks out okay (prayers), we would then bring him upstairs and move his cage into the living room to slowly get used to the other cats and vice-versa. He is so sweet.

Odds and Ends

Blessed Sunday all. Yesterday I met up with my friend, Deb who just celebrated her birthday last week. We were not able to get together for her birthday lunch until this weekend due to my husband's family reunion.

We had lunch at Applebees ...

We split an assorted platter and a refreshing large alcoholic beverage on special.

Deb also surprised me with a few little personal gifts. 💜💛💚💙
She knows how much I love colored mascaras and so she bought me this lavender-colored purple cream eyeliner, a Vanilla and Jasmine scented whipped  body butter, and a pretty gold butterfly necklace in a pouch.
I tried the new eyeliner with the Colour Pop Purple Prose mascara. Please forgive the bad application, I took the pic in a rush  ...

My husband and I are still working on trying to get Charlie in the house, but there is A LOT to clean up in the basement before we can even attempt to set up a large dog cage to keep him in temporarily until we can make an appointment with our vet to get him checked out. I took these pics of him a couple of days ago ... 🐈😻🐈

While moving things around downstairs, I picked out one of my handmade Halloween wreaths to donate to the Sinking Spring VFW. Thought perhaps they could raffle it off or something - they said they would gladly take it!  ...

And, my diamond pendant finally arrived in the mail yesterday. It came in a nice little wooden jewelry box ...
The pendant was much, much smaller than I had expected. In fact, you can hardly see it at all. I had to blow up the pic just post it.

And, finally a few new Sunday cat pics to share ...
