Homemade Yule Gifts: For Dog Lover's

Okay everyone, here is another quick and easy recipe for all of you doggie lover's out there! Or, if you are like me, you have friends and/or family who have dogs and would like to give them some special treats at Yule time.

With my God-doggie Sadie, the Basset Hound, and "Miss Acee" on the right waiting for me to play with her

Isn't she awesome? I just adore her!!

I have always loved Basset Hounds and someday I plan to welcome a rescued female into my home. Until then, I shall live vicariously through my friend and cat-sitter's favorite dog! Anyway, here is the recipe I am going to try this year for the first time ...

Homemade Dog Biscuits
What you need:
3 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup powered milk
1 egg
1 cube chicken, liver, or beef bouillon
3/4 cup water
1/3 cup margarine
1/4 teaspoon salt

Place water, bouillon cube, and margarine in a large bowl; microwave on high for one minute. Stir in all other ingredients and add the flour last. Dough will be stiff. Roll out to 1/2-inch thick on a lightly floured surface. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees F for 35 to 40 minutes (biscuits should be hard). Turn off heat and leave in the oven for one hour.

  3. I'll have to give this to my daughter to whip up. We just have kitties, but there are 3 dachshunds in our extended family. I know they will love this ... actually they will eat anything, and I'm not exaggerating, so I'm sure they will like something yummy like this. Thanks a bunch.

Peace, Happiness and Abundance to ALL !

  4. Witchy ~ Thanks! I hope your fur babies enjoy them (I think they will)!

Magic Love Crow & Artsings ~ We do no have any dogs either, just three cats and a bunny. I love all animals, although I must admit that my hubby and I are more cat people than anything. ;)

    Love and Light,

    Kim
