A Taste of Cheer!

While reading a little of our local news today, I came across a wonderful article which truly warmed my heart. For the past three years, The Simpson's, a Pennsylvania family living in South Heidelberg Township, has adorned the outside of their home with more than 55,000 twinkling lights, a snow machine which sends snowflakes flying through the air, a live reindeer (as accompanied by her guardian/owner who hails from Quarryville, PA) and with whom you can have your photo taken along with Santa, Ana and Elsa from Disney's, "Frozen."

This extravagant display is all for charity. All proceeds from the on-sight photos, as well as all donations from a bake sale in their garage, will graciously benefit The Animal Rescue League of Berks County. Last year, they raised up to $1,800 for our local homeless critters and this year their goal is $2,000!

In the area where hubby and I live, it is not terribly uncommon to see this kind of good will around this time of year. Sooo many families elaborately decorate their homes, but it is always great to see the good which can (and should, if possible) be done in order to help those who are not able to help themselves.
