We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience

Fair weather friends, Farewell!

Lately, I have been noticing a lot of negativity surrounding me. More than usual that is. The source of this bad ju-ju is coming from what I now realize are my "fair weather friends." You know the kind? They are the ones who only call upon you when they want something from you, make promises they will never keep, and they always seem to make themselves the star of their own little life drama by continuously putting themselves in the same situations and making the same exact mistakes (never, ever learning from them) over and over again!

They are also the so-called friends whom, every time they screw up their lives, come crying to you for help and of course you feel sorry for them and are always there to help them out any way you can (even though they never really do appreciate it).

Well, "friends" such as these come with a lot of negative energy and I find that I can no longer allow this to affect my life. Things like back-stabbing, lying and the like are things that I just can no longer tolerate nor continue to forgive anymore. I need to cleanse my life from these sort of situations.  I feel strongly that this is the Goddess's way of telling me to separate myself from something which is very much harmimg me emotionally and spiritually.

I still care about these lost and troubled souls very much and I wish them only the best in their life.  I hope that someday they can get their life straightened out once and for all for I know in my heart that I have done all that I could for them. As the saying goes, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink" and the rest is up to them to change their life. They must take control of their own destiny. I know that that applies to each and every one of us!

To all of my beloved friends and family for whom I have been blessed with in my life, I am forever grateful. To those fair weather friends in my life who have always been users, may they someday find the peace they have so obviously never found yet.

Blessed Be!

  1. I hear ya. I had to do that about 5 years ago and just move on. Yeah I might have hurt some feelings but they all survived my choice of me separating from them. Hope the bad ju-ju stops my friend. Love and Light to you...

  2. A truer statement there never was, Kim. You just have to let go. Sometimes not as hard as you might think. You will be happier and freer.

  3. Its so hard to let go of those toxic folks that suck our energy -- especially, when we're related to them in some way. Good for you for recognizing your own boundaries and standing firm. Its something I've been learning, this year, as well. :) BB

You are right about this Kim. I had a friend of many years who was always expecting me to do whatever she wanted. She would criticize me and then say I was being over sensitive, yet if I was at all critical of her she couldn't handle it. I finally realized it was time to move on this past year. I miss her at times but not the negative energy she directed at me. I'm very loyal to friends but sometimes one has to turn away.

  5. Excellent post Kim! I am proud of you! It might be hard to move on from these people, but you will be so much happier! This happened to my mom this year and she doesn't even think of the person any more. Big Hugs!

  6. Thank you so much for the bear and the lovely card! My daughter fell in love with the bear immediately. :o)

You are definitely right to let go of people and situations that bring only negativity wherever they go. Anton LaVey called them 'Psychic Vampires' because they feed on your energy, time and emotions until you have been sucked dry. They deplete your own positive energy and joy for living.

It's a difficult thing to do and at the time it can feel really awful (especially when it's a family member), but for your own peace of mind it will be worth the struggle.
