A little Sunday music ...

Last night, I decided to watch the movie, "Rocket Man". I have to say that it was a bit disappointing for a couple of reasons. First of all, (and leave it to Hollywood to ruin a perfectly great potential true biography) the ridiculous fantasy scenes were a bit too much, it was more like a musical with other people (cast members) singing his songs, AND the historical inaccuracies drove me crazy. For example, the song, "Tiny Dancer" which in real life was written by Bernie Taupin (Elton's lifetime song writing partner) about his first wife ("L.A. lady" and "seamstress for the band") made it appear that the song was about a young groupie black woman instead of his actual wife. Another example is his suicide attempt which had nothing to do with jumping into a pool high as a kite! LOTS of liberties that Hollywood is known for taking. 😒

That being said, the actor/singer, Taron Egerton, who portrayed Elton John was actually an extremely good vocalist and, for me, the best part of this movie.

This and That (Part 2)

Blessed Saturday all! This morning, I had an appointment at Monro Muffler for an oil change so hubby and I decided to have lunch at Subway and then venture into the plaza shops while we waited for my car to get done.

I found a couple of cool stuff ...

At "Norman's Hallmark" I bought this pajama set on sale ...

At the checkout I saw these really cute lip glosses ...
A small cherry flavored wine bottle 🍷, and a gemstone glitter lip gloss ...

I thought it might go well with my Maybelle Sky High Diamond mascara ✨

In a store called, "Wild Birds Unlimited" ...

Going back to my original post, we had to take Teddy to the emergency vet two weeks ago because he had blood in his urine. So, I took my last PTO day in order to take him to the emergency vet located in Lancaster called, "Pets Emergency". This is the same place we had taken Leo a couple of years ago when he had to be catheterized due to his F.U.S.

The good news was that we caught it in time and he was not blocked; however, now he has to have the exact same food that Leo eats for the rest of his life ...

We have been keeping an eye on him and so far he is doing much better ... 😺

Hubby came home last Sunday night from grocery shopping with this adorable kitchen set ...

Last weekend, I had lunch with my seester, Aurora Skye at "Ganly's Pub" ...

Afterward, we decided to frequent our usual shops. "Michael's Arts & Crafts" was having a 30% off sale on all of their Halloween items ...

A pair of pretty earrings at "The Mint Leaf" ...

On Sunday afternoon, I treated my good friend, Deb, to a birthday lunch at our local "Applebees"... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEB!! 💕

A couple of pairs of Converse sneakers from "Plato's Closet" ...

Gray crushed velvet (top) and Lavender (bottom)

Sir Leo and Butterscotch wish everyone a great rest of the weekend!!

This and That (Part 1)

Happy Friday everyone! Well, I had originally had a completely different post planned for today, but I have decided to publish it in two parts due to extenuating circumstances.

This past Monday evening, I came home from work to a horrid site. I always feed my cats twice a day - once in the morning and once after I return home from my second shift job. That night, I observed a couple of big (both dead and alive!) black "things" on the catio/enclosed porch rug which had not been there earlier that morning. After a closer look, I realized that the black things were ANTS!

OMG! How disgusting! Seriously, the more research I did on these e*fers, the more appalled I became! First of all, killing any ant, will only serve to attract MORE ants because they emit a pheromone which attracts other ants from the colony who track the dead bodies and carry them away.

So, after further research, my hubby and I completely cleaned the catio that evening, vacuumed up the dead ants, and placed ant traps at the enter points in the room. In addition. I sprayed the doorways and entrance points with the (cat safe) mixture of dish washing detergent and water which not only suffocates these menaces, but erases the pheromones they tract which the dead bodies leave.

There are some other natural deterrents that are a hindrance, although toxic to ants, you can use are cinnamon, vinegar, and essential peppermint and citrus oil, but be very cautious with the safety of your cat! For example, cinnamon is not good for a cat to ingest because it contains the ingredient coumarin, a substance that can irritate a cat's digestive system, leading to vomiting and diarrhea. Why? Cat's livers can not filter toxins as easily as a lot of other animals are able to. They also do not like catnip

That being said, I have been tracking the progress ever since. So far, they are appearing little by little DEAD and I am cleaning them up daily.

Never the less you need to KILL THE QUEEN before you can eradicate the colony!

AFTER Hubby and I completely cleaned up the catio ...

Today, I had a TOST (time off)). My hubby treated to me to my favorite lunch - Grilled seasoned chicken, lettuce, and cheese only  (NO dressing) ...
