This and That ...

Greetings, friends! First of all, I'd like to acknowledge "National Cat Day" today!! Goddess knows, they deserve a special day in honor of them! ... ;)

Secondly, just a quick little update on our little Miss Kiki. Since Dr. Heather has had her on her new medications, she has been doing GREAT! I spoke to the vet this afternoon, and we are to gradually wean her off of her prednisone dosage from one twice a day to once a day ~ Yay! Because her medical issue is chronic, she will most likely have to stay on the other meds we are giving her for the rest of her life. However, Dr. Heather said we will simply have to continue to monitor her progress.
Miss Kiki
Getting ready for Samhain this coming weekend! This year, I plan on celebrating with my sister and twin soul, Rhiannon on Saturday. To be quite honest, this will be the first time I will be celebrating this sabbat since my father's passing last February and it will be a bit of a tough one for me. But, with the support of my family and friends, I know it will be okay. This is my favorite time of the year and I absolutely love the fall celebrations! For now, I leave you all with one of my fav Loreena McKennitt songs ... Brightest Blessings, everyone!
Oh yes, and here is a little something for hubby as he loves the new  "From Dusk Till Dawn" television series based on the movie ...

One Fabulous Night!

Last night, hubby and I had the very fortunate opportunity to see "Loreena McKennitt ~ A Trio Performance" at the Sovereign Performing Arts Center in Reading, PA.  It was a lovely evening, an intimate stage setting, and she sounded simply AMAZING!!!

I found her to be an extremely charming and elegant performer who has both a gifted voice and an extraordinary musical talent!

Here are a few pics we took from our front row center seats of last night's show ...

The Trio ~ Brian Hughes (Guitars and Bouzouki), Loreena McKennitt (vocals, piano & Harp), and Caroline Levelle (Cello, Recorder, & Vocals)

The performance featured a bit of Celtic history in between songs and Loreena spoke with such a passion! She shared some personal stories with her audience as well, including her confession that she actually originally wanted to become a veterinarian, but as she put it, "Music chose me, I did not chose it." Understandably, she did allow us to take some pictures of her as long as it was while she was speaking to us and not singing. In fact, at one point, she smiled and politely said to all of us, "Okay, get it out of your system, you may please take your photo's while I am speaking now." She further added as the camera flashes went off, "You know, it does look a lot like fireworks!"  LOL!! I just loved her!!!
Such an unbelievable evening and an unforgettable wedding anniversary gift which hubby and I gave to one another!

Our Trip to New Hope

Yesterday hubby, my sister Aurora Skye, her husband, and I took a lovely little day trip to one of our favorite spots ~ New Hope, PA. This was Aurora's hubby's first time ever visiting there and we had a simply beautiful fall afternoon!

Of course, we had to stop into the village witch shops where I found some great stuff ...

"Gypsy Heaven"

A cool candy dish
A celestial pendant
A Green Man pendant
And, "Mystickal Tymes" where I not only picked up a couple of more sweet items, but had also gotten the chance to see their gorgeous mascot (and shop owner Eric's beloved kitty) Morganna who is an amazing 20 years old!
A taper candle holder which I plan on using in my next Beltane ritual.
A Mermaid Chalice
A Mermaid Tea Light Holder
Mermaid Statue
'The Gang' posing outside of "Gypsy Heaven"
As always, there are plenty of cool things to see and do ...
Year-round rail road trips

And so, after a wonderful day spent with family and friends it is back to my weekly house cleaning for tomorrow it's back to work.
