TBT: A Matter of Faith

 

As a Wiccan, I faithfully celebrate Ostara and the Spring Equinox. As a daughter; however, I still spend the Easter holidays, church aside, with my Christian family. There may be a few of my fellow Wiccans who might believe that in doing so, I am in conflict with my Wiccan beliefs. As I see it, I, myself, am not celebrating Easter - I am merely respecting the fact that my family does.  I love spending time with my family and friends and since that does not interfere in any way with the fact that I am Wiccan and celebrate the sabbat of Ostara, I certainly do not see any problem with it. 

For example, my husband is agnostic, but he has always respected my decision to be a Wiccan. Even though he does not actually participate in our circles and sabbat celebrations, he is still there with me and he helps me in any way he can.  He has always stood by me and supported me throughout these many years. The fact that he does not follow my own personal religious beliefs, does not mean that he can not be accepting of them.

As a Wiccan Priestess and teacher, I am also a strong advocate of religious tolerance, and as such, I truly believe in “practicing what I preach.” After all, it is a road which runs both ways.  It is important for us to remember that, ultimately, we all breathe the same air and we are all a part of the same universe – regardless of our various faiths and diverse religious beliefs.

TBT: Appreciating Differences

I remember shopping at a local flea market a few years ago looking to buy a book on Jewish culture for my Wiccan friend as a Yule gift. I saw a used book stand and confidently walked up to the saleswoman and said, "Good day! I was wondering if you would happen to have any books on Christmas? I have a friend who wishes to learn more about his Jewish heritage." Of course, after I misspoke I immediately realized my "slip of the tongue." But before I had the chance to correct myself, she very sternly replied, "No, no it's Hanukkah, my de-ah, Hanukkah!" I promptly apologized and we both shared a little chuckle, deservedly so, at my expense.

The friend whom I am referring to is my very dear friend and our long-time solitary group member, Matthew.  When it comes to witches, some of us are what are considered to be a hereditary witch - meaning a witch who can trace his or her bloodline back at least three generations. Some of us are natural witches and some of us are even mixed with another faith.  Such is the case with my friend Matthew. He is a Wiccan; however, he also chooses to acknowledge his Jewish roots.  Traditonally in the Jewish religion, it is the mothers' side of the family which determines the faith of the next generation of children. Even though Matt's mother does not choose follow the Jewish faith, his grandmother did.



It is interesting to note that the six-pointed Jewish Star of David was originally a Pagan symbol known as the Seal of Solomon. In fact, the menorah, which is also associated with the Jewish religion, is often used by many Wiccans (myself included) during esbat rituals. The main reason for this is because of the number "9" which has long been considered a magickal symbol.*

Although I have been Matt's teacher in Wicca for all these many years, I am now finding myself learning from him as well. To me, one of the most beautiful things about Wicca is its' open-mindedness and willingness to learn from others. It is not solely a matter of education; however, it is also a case of appreciating each others' differences - whatever our heritage.

Funny thing happened ...

Well, I hadn't actually planned on publishing a post today as I knew that I would be busy all day cleaning the house and organizing a few things downstairs in the altar room. While cleaning up, I decided I would begin decorating the ancestor altar which my sister and I always place aside of, and in addition to, our Samhain altar every year. We use it as a place of honor for our loved ones pictures and memorabilia of our family and friends who have passed on. This is a bit like what it will most probably look like soon ...

During my set-up, I heard the land phone in our house ring. A minute later, I heard my husband open up the basement door and walk down the steps. I asked him what was up? He then asked me if I was doing any work or "anything weird" (as he put it) down in my altar room. I replied, "No, why?" He then showed me the face on the cordless land phone which showed that someone had tried to call us from somewhere inside the house! We have caller ID and it read with his name and our land phone number on it as if it were  dialed from inside the house. It wasn't me who called, it wasn't him, and it most certainly was not the cats. ...

This very same thing happened to my mom just a few months ago (she also has called ID on her land phone) and it happened a day before what would have been my beloved dad's 85th birthday. Coincidence? I think not. Anyway, I told my husband that it must have been someone letting us know that they are thinking of us, or they want to make sure that we have not forgotten them? For whatever the reason, I believe that we were contacted. My husband seems to think it was most likely his deceased brother because "it sounds like something he would do" as he was also Pagan. I must agree.

The other day, I picked up new bottle for us to use for our ritual to hold the ceremonial wine on our Samhain altar. However, there is still so much left to do.

Praying for better days ...

While I seldom talk about certain aspects of my private life on my blogs or any other internet forum for that matter, (and trust me, this is a very rare post for me), I feel the need to share this here with you all today. I know that everyone has their own version of "family problems" - after all, that is part of life whether we like it or not. I learned a long time ago that there is no such thing as a perfect family and whether or not they choose to speak about it, be they little or big, I have no doubt that they have their own personal situations in which they must deal with on some level or other. My family is no different than any other in that way.

Sadly, there was one person missing from our family holidays this year for the first time ever. That person was my only sibling, my only brother who, in spite of numerous failed attempts by both our family and the authorities to get him the psychiatric help he so desperately needs, he has recently gotten arrested for his defiance of the law, refused to accept help from any type of local social service resources which were offered to him, and then decided to  pick up and move to Memphis, TN to live with a completely strange woman whom he met online and has six kids and is apparently, according to my brother, also going through a divorce. Now, add to this the fact that my brother has not had a job since he quit his right after my fathers' passing four years go and does not even own a car because he totaled the one he had.

The problem is the mental illness factor which runs in our family history. My grandmother (my mother's mother) was diagnosed with schizophrenia just after my mother was born. She was institutionalized until the day she died at aged 83 and neither my brother or I had ever even met her nor even saw her until the day of her funeral. My dad always said that he believed my brother was afflicted with this same mental disease because of his very strange and extreme behavior which became visibly noticeable in his mid to late twenties. He will be 49 years old at the end of this month. The past two years he insisted on living in his broken down car which was parked in my parents driveway, he chose to literally walk the streets all day and all hours of the night, he refused to bathe, brush his teeth or do any of the normal things which any sane person would do if they had a choice (which he indeed did as he "lived" with my mom and always had access to my mom's house any time he wished it). I could say more, but I am sure by now that you all get the idea. 

Without getting into any further details, I have my own reasons for believing that my father was right. In addition to the family history of mental illness, it is worth noting that my brother is not and has never been on drugs, nor does he like to drink alcohol! Anyone who has ever had to deal with any type of mental illness in their family, knows what a completely helpless feeling it is to have to stand by and watch your loved one changing drastically before your very own eyes - to know that there is little you can do to help them because: a) you can not force anyone to get help unless they actually want it, and b) in most cases it is usually part of the mental illness that they can not or do not even realize that they have a problem.

I love my brother and always will, I just miss the person we used to know. Here is some information which I found on the Mayo Clinic's website about schizophrenia. I do not pretend to know exactly what my brother's exact mental diagnosis is, but I DO know he is very ill and in need of some medical and/or psychological help! The disease can also affect families. Individuals with schizophrenia usually have difficulty keeping a job and caring for themselves. They must rely on family and friends for help. The disease is often misunderstood, but it is treatable, and in many cases, the individual can go on to lead a productive and normal life.

As difficult as it has been for us, I know that my mom and I will get through this because we still have each other - and we still have the hope that he will eventually get the help he needs and we will be able to see him again someday soon. We have to hold on to our faith - sometimes it is all we have to give us strength in this world.

Chance or 'Divine Intervention'?

This is a question which I have asked myself my entire life. My conclusion? Well, while I do believe that people come and go in our lives for some sort of reason, I do not completely subscribe to the idea that EVERYTHING happens for a "reason." Good, bad or indifferent, I do not think we will ever truly know "why" things happen in our lives which we have absolutely no control over. I will say this, it seems the older we get, the more we seem to lose in terms of the ones we hold dear to us. 

Why am I writing about this particular subject? Well, as of late things have become a bit overwhelming in my life and now to add to everything else going on Kiki has taken a turn for the worse. Her meds are no longer working and there is little left we can do for her. She can not keep her food in her stomach and I fear that once we take her to the vet (her next check up is scheduled for mid-December) they will feed her through intravenous tubes and she will never make it back home again - just in time for the holidays of course and I was so praying that she would make it until afterwards. Now, it looks as though she will not even make it until Thanksgiving.  :( 

On the flip side of this coin, I was out to dinner last Thursday night and "coincidentally?" met a man who sat next to me and after he told me his last name, I realized that he may be a distant relative on my mom's side of the family. Through phone calls and emails, it turns out that he is related to me as my cousin confirmed it just this morning. My cousin has a huge database full of our family history which he has been gathering information on for many years now.

Coexist?

Many people in paganism are under the illusion that can coexist with other religions, because they themselves are tolerant and talking about "different paths". This "different path" rhetoric may hold for many other religions but not for abrahamic ones for the simple reason that there is a book called "the Bible" ordering the killing of "infidels" - so they call other religious views and atheists - and witches. The Quran just copies the Bible. Therefore we have to be careful and certainly not naive.

Truth is that in England, the Anglican Church made honest steps to the correct directions. It has recognized the Pagans and Druids and is represented in every celebration and festival of the Druids that is the main pagan faith there. Since things were going that good, the worthless politicians had to ruin it of course, so they brought up the muslims to start the bombings and terrorism and shariah zones or no-go zones. I don't care if you call me a racist, religion is no race, it is a choice and an opinion about the spiritual and therefore can be criticized.

Now, they have created a christian - muslim dipole that threatens to crush paganism between these two combatants. I remind you that both religions command the killing of "infidels" and witches. Have no illusions, the muslims will be after us like the christians. It is only a matter of time.

For now the christians are bullying pagans wherever they can. Here is one of many incidents.

Do you believe in "Divine Intervention"?

One description of divine intervention is a direct and obvious intervention by a deity in the affairs of a human. As deep as this subject is, I never really gave it a whole lot of thought until two weekends ago when my sister Aurora Skye and I had our readings done at one of our local wiccan shops called Celtic Myth and Moonlight. I had a tarot reading done. I was asked to pick four cards from the deck, which was a bit different from the usual Celtic spread in which you use 10 cards for the reading. The reading was spot on and one of the things in which I was told was that I have the strength to see my way through my darkness which I am and have been going through for quite a few years now. Without getting into any details, I will just say that I was told that if I need to, I should consult someone further if that is what it takes. I must add that the tarot reader had no prior knowledge of or about me nor had I offered him any information at any time before, during or after my reading.

So, last week I had decided to have a spiritual reading done by an experienced local physic named Erica who has her business right up the street from where I work. The first thing she noticed was the locket I was wearing around my neck with Midnight's picture in it. She said, "That cat! This cat is all around you all of the time and the bond between the two of you was very strong!" Even after my spiritual reading she kept commenting about "That cat, that cat." lol

At any rate, she asked me to I sit down and she began my reading. I can not divulge much of what was said at this time, but I have to say that I was astounded by how much this woman knew about my life in detail! Things she could have never known about my family, my in-laws, my job and most of all my love life! All of which have contributed to my state of "darkness." Anyway, to make a long story short, I have been seeing her for a few chakra sessions in order to help me work through it all. I feel as though my first tarot reading two weeks ago was meant to be and actually prompted me to "get further consultation" with Erica. 

And so, my question to you my dear friends is, do you believe in divine intervention and, if so, why? Was there an experience or event which made you think twice about what you truly believe? The reason I ask this is because it seems as though we choose our particular beliefs and/or faith/religion based upon our personal experiences. If you agree, please feel free to share yours with us.

Playing with fire

To my dismay, I saw a widely spread stupidity in social media about Hex-On-Trump. I believe this idiocy originates to common "liberal" provocateurs of the Dem party that are not really Pagan witches. It is similar to the revealed scammer Elizabeth Warren that was supposed to be of native descendant but that turned out to be A LIE OF HERS merely for votes.

A christian priest - yes, a christian priest - kindly warned a Wiccan sister of what was about to happen because he didn't want his church to be accused by history of another witch-hunt without even being their fault. It's the fault of some greedy and corrupt to the bone politicians. I am not a fan of "coexist" and I believe in a separate community - maybe I am wrong but is my opinion anyway - but this priest would be welcome because he is really a good man.

Their intentions are two-fold:

First to ignite a new witch hunt that will be carried out by the GOP bible fanatics so that their hands will remain "clean." This is done to open the way for their beloved muslims that hate pagans and the Quran calls for their DEATH. The muslim oil oligarchs pay billions to the Dem party to promote their vile agenda in the USA and the West. This agenda is based on the orders of their Quran. Have no doubt that the Dem party is NOT an ally of Pagans despite their statements. They materialize the wishes of their sponsors and the Pagan community can not compete with the Saudis financing the Dems.

Second, to appear as saviors to Pagans to get their votes despite their secret plots for their destruction. Quite a Machiavellian plan. They are clever but not that clever. Hexing the President is an unconstitutional act of treason and an insult in public against the Head of the State. They also might have troubles with the law if someone sues them. I advice Wiccans not to support that and to protest wherever they find it.

Those who take part in these idiotic hexes are NOT Wiccans or serious witches. They are new-ager would-be-witches that do not belong to any legitimate Wiccan Church. Many Wiccan Churches condemned it because they know that it may lead to a new witch-hunt by bible fanatics. And it also goes against the Rede and the Old Law:

A. You must harm none.
B. You aren't permitted to brag that you are a witch and threaten to curse.
C. Even if you are asked if you are a witch or know anything about it, you must not admit it and you must evade the question.

These guys are doing exactly the opposite. They admit in public that they are witches, they threaten to hex, and they try to harm.

This blog never proposed a hex against Obama or Hillary. It's against our faith.

Don't worry. It won't work because they are not real witches... they are Dem provocateurs along with new age loonies that are would-be-witches and will-never-be-witches of course.

Cross and Pentacle.

It's widespread among the Christians that we witches fear or hate crosses. The truth is that the Old Religion had crosses much before Christianity.

Wheel pendants dating to the second half of the 2nd millennium BC have been found in Zürich are held at the Swiss National Museum. Variants include a six-spoked wheel, a central empty circle, and a second circle with twelve spokes surrounding one of four spokes (solar cross).

So the well known Celtic Cross of the figure isn't really of Christian origin. Celtic Crosses like the one in the figure are used in Wicca to symbolize the male sun God of Wicca. Triquetra in that cross is also used as a male sexual organ symbol.

The triple moon sign is really of Wiccan origin and it depicts the well known triple lunar goddess, the pentacle inside however has a much longer history. The planet Venus' track on the sky is actually a REVERSE pentagram. If it is "evil," then the god that supposedly made the planets and all is evil as well... This sign was used by the pythagorean philosophers.

So this very important symbol was adopted to symbolise the Goddess and the five elements: Spirit, Fire, Air, Water and Earth. The corresponding Alpha - Gods are Apollo, Ares, Athena, Aphrodite and Artemis. The sun cross is also a symbol of Apollo as a solar God. The pentagram is also five alphas. My preferred correspondence is:

Apollo / Spirit --> Top
Ares / Fire --> Right (Sword) Hand
Athena / Air --> Left (Shield/Staff) Hand
Aphrodite / Water --> Left foot.
Artemis / Earth --> Right foot.

There are many reasons for this correspondence, I can't explain here, though you may read it otherwise in the bibliography originating from a book by Eliphas Levi. You have to keep in mind that magick books have intentional mistakes - it's either believe me or Eliphas Levi.

Not the status quo

Needless to say, I have been practicing Wicca and Paganism for a very long time. One thing that I have noticed about many non-pagans (and even some who are pagan) is the perception of who we are and what we believe in as a collective. Now, first of all just let me say that I have never been a fan of labels or generalizing anyone's personal convictions and/or personal beliefs. We are all individuals and as such we do not all think alike and we do not all have the exact same views on subjects such as our religion/faith, politics, family decisions, etc., etc.

Speaking only for myself, I am not completely liberal nor conservative. I am a little of both actually. I am somewhat liberal in some things in my life and somewhat conservative in others. I do not like, nor particularly wish to be, categorized as thinking like everyone else (Wiccan or other) just because the "majority" may think a particular way about something. 

I feel it is important that we all, as individuals, use our common sense and think for ourselves ... express our own views for our own personal reasons so long as those views do not impose on someone else's personal "rights." I do very strongly believe in both  The Wiccan Rede ("... and it harm none, do as you will") and The Threefold Law ("Ever mind the rule of three, What ye send out comes back to thee.")

To tell you the truth, I have never been what some may feel is the "status quo" in regards to anything in my life and my faith is most certainly no exception.

Imagine a highly educated, disobedient and sexual woman at high level of conciousness that is completely out of their control, she would be their worst nightmare! These women had been persecuted as witches in the middle ages. It's not just a mere bad fairy tale. It's theory, archetype embedding in the subconscious and of course practice.

The knowledgeable and independent women that refused to either get married and serve a man or serve the church as monks, were being targeted as witches. Actually the image of a witch flying on a broomstick is a mythological encoding of women using that broomstick as a sexual accessory. And the "flying" means the ascendance of the level of consciousness that was real and confirmed.

In previous posts elsewhere, I have shown how and why the Christian religion has been invented and designed by the Jew rabbis during the 1st and 2nd centuries. And I have shown how the Christians managed to dominate all the Roman Empire during 3rd and 4th centuries with bloody violence. Their church is LYING about "persecutions of Christians." During the 5th - 8th centuries there was the first "Witch Hunt." It began in 391 and it ended in 794.

Between 389-391 they emanated the infamous "Theodosian decrees," which established a practical ban on paganism; visits to the temples were forbidden, remaining Pagan holidays abolished, the eternal fire in the Temple of Vesta in the Roman Forum extinguished, the Vestal Virgins disbanded, auspices and witchcrafting punished.

But when the "good" Christians realized that they hadn't exterminated all their "enemies" and that some of them were hidden and escaped them, a second witch hunt begun, mainly from 1480 to 1750 and the last "witches" execution happened in 1793 in Poland.

"A witch-hunt is a search for witches or evidence of witchcraft, often involving moral panic, mass hysteria and lynching, but in historical instances also legally sanctioned and involving official witchcraft trials. The classical period of witch hunts in Europe and North America falls into the Early Modern period or about 1480 to 1750, spanning the upheavals of the Reformation and the Thirty Years' War, resulting in an estimated 40,000 to 100,000 executions. The last executions of people convicted as witches in Europe took place in the 18th century. In the Kingdom of Great Britain, witchcraft ceased to be an act punishable by law with the Witchcraft Act of 1735. In Germany, sorcery remained punishable by law into the late 18th century. Contemporary witch-hunts are reported from Sub-Saharan Africa, India and Papua New Guinea. Official legislation against witchcraft is still found in Saudi Arabia and Cameroon."

But it didn't entirely stop because the charges were just changed from "witchcraft" to "fraud." I have some doubts if charges for fraud are unjust in some cases because promises or threats of "witchcraft" can easily be used to seduce or scare naive people in order to get a lot of money from them. The easiest way is to claim that you will cast a "good luck" spell on them. Good or bad luck can't be accurately defined or measured. "Blessings" or "blessed charms" and "blessed" water or oil falls in this category of fraud, you can't objectively prove if they really worked or didn't work. That's why Gerald Gardner, the founder of Wicca prohibited ANY kind of reward for ALL kinds of magic work. In the 20th century the witch hunt was completely ended even in the form of anti-"fraud" laws.

Sex, Lilith and Witchcraft - Part One

Revelation 21:8 states “But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars–their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death”. Micah 5:11-12 says “I will tear down your walls and demolish your defenses. I will put an end to all witchcraft, and there will be no more fortune-tellers”. Leviticus 20:27 claims that “Men and women among you who act as mediums or who consult the spirits of the dead must be put to death by stoning. They are guilty of a capital offense.” And, Exodus (22:18) states, "Thou shalt not permit a sorceress to live." (Chery, 2015) (or "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." - King James Bible version).

There are also death penalties for a woman who has sex. Sex is also widely used in witchcraft, tantra and spirituality in general in the form of sacred ritual. Society having christian morality may condemn that as "sinful" and "immoral" but this can not stand for not even a few minutes of logical discussion.

When I want to explain anything, I always turn to science. So let's see what science has to say about that ...

"When you are sexually aroused, the Kundalini energy is activated. It rises up the spine, and as it approaches the brain, the sexual feelings become stronger and stronger. At this point, in most people, the energy reverses and takes a downward course seeking release though the genitals. Τhe human brain is still in an organic state of evolution toward higher levels of consciousness. The driving force of that evolution is the Kundalini energy.

When you are engaged in sexual activity, it's important that you relax and surrender completely to the feelings coming up. During this process there will be an increase of slow brain waves such as delta and theta waves. The stronger the waves, the more orgasmic energy you can hold in consciousness before it travels downward and spills over in the body in the form of release.

When you relax and open up during sexual stimulation, changes first take place in the etheric body. The Kundalini energy which is coiled up like a snake at the base of the spine in the root chakra starts to rise to higher levels passing through the chakras. Since Kundalini is the energy circuit in the etheric body (much as the blood vessels are the energy circuit in the physical body) the changes in energy initially take place in the etheric or emotional body.

If the person relaxes and surrenders to the pleasurable feelings, there will be physiological changes such as an increase of the parasympathetic activity in the Autonomic Nervous System. If you are not relaxed in the situation, the energy is blocked, possibly leading to frigidity and impotence. In case of relaxation and surrender, the brain changes its activity toward more alpha and theta waves. These changes indicate better access to the body and the feelings. Now, as the energy rises and increases its momentum, it’s important – through meditation - to hold the energy in that space of consciousness without releasing it.

When you get very close to orgasm, and the male gets close to release, the feelings will be overwhelming and the brain tends to shut down and reverse the energy which will then take a downward course and seek release through the genitals. These energy changes are mediated by a small structure deep in the brain called the hypothalamus which controls the balance of the Autonomic System (ANS).

According to a principle called reciprocal innervation, an extremely high activation of the frontal hypothalamus and thus of the parasympathetic system, will create an overflow of energy activating the posterior hypothalamus which stimulates the sympathetic nervous system. This will make the energy rise to higher centers and this process is accompanied by very fast activity in the EEG (beta and gamma wave frequencies up to at least 42Hz).

So, initially you will see very low frequencies when the energy is activated in the lower chakras. When the energy rises to the higher chakras, very fast frequencies will take over (see above brain map). The sexual feelings and the energy is now so overwhelming that most people cannot contain it anymore. Once more reciprocal innervation in the hypothalamus shifts the balance toward more parasympathetic activity. The brain's activity is shut down, and the energy takes a downward course. These changes are automatic and fast and will quickly lead to a depletion of the energy and in the male to release.

We believe that this EEG pattern (high amplitude, slow waves followed by high amplitude, fast waves) is the brain's signature of a total orgasm involving the whole body and all the chakras. In most people, however, we do not see this pattern, since they tend to have much less than total orgasms.

EEGs were obtained from three volunteer subjects (two men and one woman) who all reached sexual climax and Orgasm through masturbation. A 54-year-old woman described her orgasm as intense, almost overwhelming, involving all parts of her body and mind. Initially high amplitude 7 Hz theta appeared in the right frontal lobe. Within eight minutes, high amplitude, rhythmic activity within all EEG frequency bands spread to the whole scalp for about 30 seconds during orgasm. Immediately following orgasm all electrical activity seized for approximately five seconds after which it returned to normal."

This is part of a published work at a conference in Miami, 2001. In brief it says that when you have sex you get to a higher level of consciousness through the Kundalini energy. Kundalini was known to psychological science since Karl Yung. So what is really at discussion here is our level of consciousness. Neither our souls going to a supposed hell nor any supposed sins, These monotheist religions are especially designed to keep us humans at a low level of consciousness...

Let us now take a look at something else: the demonized women Lilith and Naamah. Lilith was Adam's first wife that did not want to obey him. Naamah was a daughter of Enoch, wife of Noah and the supposed first teacher in human history. They both supposedly ended up in hell and married the Devil.

But why did the Jewish clergy make demons of them? Because they feared what they represented: Disobedience and Knowledge. In these two people, the Jewish clergy have demonized the idea of an educated and free woman. It 's not about hell, fires, demons and devils but about the desired position of a woman in the society... Demons and devils are just used as scarecrows in their scare tactics and their psychological warfare.

Spiritual Healing and Medicine

USA is considered to be the first superpower and most advanced country on this planet, second to reach space after Russia and first on the Moon and Mars. The news that some ignorant parents left their two year old daughter to die because "god would heal her if that was his will" are fit for some African or middle-eastern third world country and NOT for USA. When I heard this news, I felt strange.

Some liberals - and conservatives as well - have misunderstood the meaning of democracy. Democracy is to decide what to do - and ONLY that - by vote. Reality isn't democratic, a family can't vote to raise dad's wage, they can vote what to do with the existent money. People HAVE TO understand this fundamental fact. Similarly science isn't democratic, you don't vote on what is true and what is false. What is true and what is false is decided by the scientific method, well known to every scientist. Religious beliefs or any other "rights" or "freedoms" has absolutely NO PLACE here. Science has absolutely NO FREEDOM, it has MILITARY DISCIPLINE to this scientific method. Theory, mathematical modeling and experiment.

The scientist has absolutely no freedom of opinion if he can't prove what he says. Either he can prove what he says or he is a charlatan and a pseudo-scientist. There are many hypotheses that aren't yet proven neither correct nor wrong and this is okay. So progress the science, but they are mentioned as hypotheses and once they are proven wrong they are discarded and no votes can alter that...

Spiritual healing is widespread in the witches community as well as fanatical Christians' "god's healing." Spiritual healing isn't proven yet as true, nor its physical laws are yet discovered. Science CAN NOT accept that unless it can be proven with the standard clinical methods. And science is not democratic and no, you can't vote anywhere about that.

You can use the spiritual healing, crystals and whatever you like, but first you go to the doctor. It 's that simple.

I would just like to add that I completely agree! I have been a certified Reiki II practitioner for many years now and we use reiki as an alternative healing method for pain control, relaxation and stress, minor aches and pains, etc. We were taught that Reiki can be used in conjunction with modern day medicine in most cases but NOT as an alternative on its' own to cure diseases such as cancer alone.These people were refusing to get their two year old daughter ANY kind of treatment because it went "against their religious beliefs."

These irresponsible "parents" used their religion as some kind of sick excuse to not protect their child KNOWING the risk they (and the clergy from their church who is also partially responsible for this horrific tragedy and should also have charges brought against them in my opinion) put this poor girl in!

Freedom of religion goes too far IF it puts someone else's (especially a child who can not protect themselves from harm) life in mortal danger!
