What's new?

Greetings, friends! What's new?

Well, on Monday Butterscotch had his follow-up appointment. It went well. Dr. Watska said he checked out and she saw no lumps or tumors on his left leg. She told us to remind her to check his leg every time Butterscotch has an appointment so that she may examine it. My husband usually drives and I keep him on my lap in his carrier so that I may calm him down, but this time I had to take him myself. Poor guy was so upset and would not stop crying until we got there.

After we arrived back home, I had to immediately take him into the bathroom and clean him up because he peed himself as we were getting ready to leave for home. However, it did not take him long to settle back in and get comfortable on the sofa ...

Joining him was Charlie, who never leaves my side ...
Speaking of Charlie, he has what lookes like dermatitis under his chin. I took a picture of it on my camera phone and took it with me to Butterscotch's visit in order to show Dr. Watska. She asked me if I use plastic bowls for the cats food and water. I told her that I use both plastic and ceramic. She instructed me to discontinue using plastic because it is known to cause acne on cats chins. I never knew that! She said that ceramic bowls are fine as long as they are kept clean.

This and That

Greetings, friends. Just a lazy Sunday today. The sky is overcast and it looks like we will be getting yet MORE rain. Yesterday, my hubby, my MIL, and I spent the afternoon at his family's 70th year reunion. It  always falls on the first Saturday in August. And, it always lands on the same weekend of my mom's birthday. Today she would have been 85 years old.

After the reunion, we took my MIL home and as we were leaving her house, we saw these beautiful deer in both her and her neighbors yard. I could not resist taking a few pics ...

Just a few pics from the Family Reunion ....
Posing with my husband's cousin, Robin and her son, Lucas.
My husband and MIL.

Since it was the 70th Annual Reunion, everyone got together and created a special book of favorite family recipes ...

This was added to the first page after the Table of Contents ... 😃

I thought this was cute. My MIL added it to the book ...

Later on, we had dinner at the Sinking Spring VFW ...

Goofing around ... lol

My dance partner, Walt (aka "Rabbit") showed up as did his youngest son, Billy ...

He and I are both big time fans of Motown music and we enjoy dancing to it. Sometimes, I am able to convince my husband to dance with me, but he doesn't like to dance ...

TBT: A Day at the Petting Zoo

(Originally posted on Saturday, August 11, 2018)

Yesterday afternoon, Deb, J.J. and I took a ride to the Oley Turnpike Diner & Ice Cream place were we had a nice little lunch ...
Then visited their petting zoo where they had all sorts of cool farm critters ...

Lots of goats ...
Miniature ponies ...
Precious fawns, this little girl was so sweet!
A few alpacas ...
Some geese, peacocks, chickens, roosters, and this rather large pig taking an afternoon nap and staying out of the humidity of the day. He was smarter than we were ...
Lots of cute Sicilian Donkeys ...
Say cheese!
"How's this for cheese?"
... and turkeys as well as many other wild animals.
Before we left, we all enjoyed a delicious cone of ice cream ...
I also took home a couple of bags of goody snacks ...
Buttermint chocolates (non pareil mints) and peppermint & spearmint candy.

One my way home from Deb's house, I had to stop in the middle of the street to let a poor, lost and disoriented wild doe cross the busy road. I waited until she completely crossed and was safely into the wooded area across the street. Then, after I got home, I saw a little brown groundhog having dinner in our front lawn - something I personally have never seen since I have lived in my house as they normally do not get that close. In fact, I had to take these pics from the front living room window ...
Like the wild bunnies we have here, this fella was just helping us to mow the lawn. LOL!

Weekend happenings

Greetings, friends, I hope all is well. It has been another busy weekend. Yesterday, I spent a majority of the day running around for my mom - doing her laundry, checking her mail and messages at her house, etc. My husband mowed our lawn and kept getting a little visitor hopping around in the grass. He did not want to run over a baby wild bunny so he told me to take it into the house until he was finished. I placed this cute little guy in one of our small cat carriers then released it back outside afterward where my husband said its' "mommy was looking for him"

Earlier that morning I was finally able to find the time to get my hair cut at "The Girls Hair Studio" ...
My hair was so long that I had six inches taken off of it.

Later on in the evening, we dropped by my sister Aurora Skye and her hubby's house to check in on their kitty, "Hammy" while they are on vacation ...

Today, I met my girlfriend Deb for a long overdue lunch date at "The Railroad House" ...

She surprised me with an adorable pair of sunflower earrings! ... 💗

This Tuesday, I will be taking a tour of another Senior Living Center called, "Rittenhouse" in order to be proactive in the event that my mom is still NOT able to get up and down on her own. She only has thirty days at Mifflin Court and then she must leave. It is far too expensive for her to stay there another month.

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend everyone!
