What's Up

Blessed Sunday all! Hope everyone is doing well. Besides working six days a week as of late, I have been also keeping pretty busy at home on my only day off. Last weekend, I cleaned out my closet full of clothing that do not fit me anymore in order to make room for the clothes that do and took four bags to Goodwill.

A couple of days ago, I had a little visitor in the kitchen ... 🐞💖

Moving on, we currently have three outside cats which we are feeding and trying to give shelter to. One of them is a little boy whom my hubby named "Benny" ...

It is my sincere belief that Benny has a neurological problem as his head is always tilted to the left and his walk is "off". It is our hope that we can get close enough to him to flea treat him and get him set up in the downstairs holding cage then make an appointment with our vet for an evaluation to see if there is anything at all we can do to help him! He is so sweet!!! ...

It is that time of the season for Pumpkin Spice cookies ... 😀

Now for some rather sad news. Our friend (and my dance buddy) Walt had a very bad fall at home and hit his head causing some bleeding in the brain and he has some memory loss. He doesn't remember his five kids, but the doctors say in time that his memory will slowly come back to him. We are sending he and his family (also friends of ours from the Sinking Spring VFW) LOTS OF PRAYERS!!!

Walt and my hubby last Memorial Day at the Sinking Spring VFW.

Walt and two of his children - Billy and Dawn.

Walt with his daughter-in-law Heather.

LOVE THIS!!! Walt dressed up for the annual b-que fund raiser.

One of Walt's favorite songs. This one's for you, Walt. Get well soon! ...

Fun Friday!

Greetings, friends! My deepest apologies for my absence the past few weeks. I have been working A LOT of mandatory overtime at work and have had very little time to catch up on the blogs I follow or even to publish any posts on my own blog. I hope to be able to update all of you sometime this weekend as we are getting at least one weekend reprieve.

In the meantime, I will leave you all with a few music videos from my favorite movies. The first one (above) is from the movie remake, "Unfailthfully Yours" starring the both comedically AND musically talented Dudley Moore (and yes he actually DID play the violin in this scene!), Armand Assante, and Nastassja Kinski.

And finally, one of my all-time favorite videos (although not from a movie, to my knowledge) is an excellent performance of the late, great Roy Clark (playing the fiddle) and a young 12 year  old Jimmy Henley (playing the banjo) on "Orange Blossom Special"! Now, because, unfortunately, this wonderful video performance has been changed so it can not be shared here (as with so many other YouTube videos - GRRRR) so I had to share it from a different source and in a different format as I had planned (if you wish to skip the "chit chat" part of this video please forward to the time of 6:24). Trust me, it is well worth the watch! ENJOY!

A little Sunday music ...

Last night, I decided to watch the movie, "Rocket Man". I have to say that it was a bit disappointing for a couple of reasons. First of all, (and leave it to Hollywood to ruin a perfectly great potential true biography) the ridiculous fantasy scenes were a bit too much, it was more like a musical with other people (cast members) singing his songs, AND the historical inaccuracies drove me crazy. For example, the song, "Tiny Dancer" which in real life was written by Bernie Taupin (Elton's lifetime song writing partner) about his first wife ("L.A. lady" and "seamstress for the band") made it appear that the song was about a young groupie black woman instead of his actual wife. Another example is his suicide attempt which had nothing to do with jumping into a pool high as a kite! LOTS of liberties that Hollywood is known for taking. 😒

That being said, the actor/singer, Taron Egerton, who portrayed Elton John was actually an extremely good vocalist and, for me, the best part of this movie.
