Monday, Monday ...

Here it is Monday again and yet another rainy day here! It has been cold, damp and rainy for the past three days in a row and still coming down ...

Not much else to do but work inside the house and chill out with the cats today ...

I did put out a couple of more fall decorations in the kitchen I just bought on sale at our local Boscov's Store. A ceramic paper towel rack and napkin holder ...

Oh yes, and while I was cleaning out the bedroom closets over the weekend, I found an old Goddess of Love Halloween costume from a couple of years ago when I weighed um, lets just say A LOT more then I do now ...

Before ...

That same dress now ...

That is about it for now, how was your weekend?

Fun Friday!!

Yes indeed, it's Friday folks and it has been yet another busy week here. I ended the week meeting my sister and twin soul, Rhiannon for lunch yesterday while I was out and about dropping off my resumes at a couple of local businesses ...

We are both so busy these days that it has been far too long since the last time we took some time to catch up on things. Anyway. I am forced to stay home today and wait for a phone call from the 'U.C. police' (as I commonly refer to them) aka the PA State Government Unemployment Compensation Dept. On top of auditing you every week, they "check up" on you after 30 days via the phone and then they bug you, I mean call you, again in another 90 days. Better be an obedient, good little tax payer (and yes, even though I am currently unemployed, I still pay taxes through BOTH my U.C. benefit payments which were technically taxed the first time around when I worked and they took it out of my pay for others to use and they are also taking their cut of whatever severance pay I receive from my last job). I must have my mandatory job search log at hand for when they ask (or should I say interrogate) me over the phone. Okay, I am done venting, thanks for listening. I feel better now! LOL!!

Moving on, I wanted to share this little bit on a charity called:
Spirit of Children that I heard about when I shopped at the local Spirit Halloween store the other day. I included a link to the site in case anyone is interested in reading more about it. I donated when I checked out and when you give up to a certain amount, they give you these nice little rubber wrist bands to wear in support.

And, of course I just had to grab these two really cute little tee shirts while I was there ...

In other "mews", Merlin is growing like a weed. He and Leo simply adore one another and are constantly playing ...

... and snoozing together. They are quite the buds! Oh yes, and I bought Leo a new high velocity fan at Lowe's Hardware store for his catio since his old one finally called it quits.

And so now I will leave you all with good wishes from my sister Rhiannon for a wonderful weekend! Brightest Blessings, friends!

Throwback Thursday

Just some throwback pics from a few years ago of a little holiday good times with Rhiannon and Page ...

Me, Rhiannon, and Page at dinner on Samhain Eve in 2015.

Having some fun with Rhiannon at Flanagan's Pub - 2015.

This year, Rhiannon will be out of out state for our Samhain Eve celebration of dinner and drinks, so we have decided we will get together the week before. I will wear this bad nurse costume to Flanny's when we go ...

And this is the Harley Quinn costume that I just bought the other day at the local Spirit Halloween store.  I will wear when going out with my friends Deb and Dave ...

Complete with Harley Quinn nurses cap and all!

Have a great day all!

Funny thing happened ...

Well, I hadn't actually planned on publishing a post today as I knew that I would be busy all day cleaning the house and organizing a few things downstairs in the altar room. While cleaning up, I decided I would begin decorating the ancestor altar which my sister and I always place aside of, and in addition to, our Samhain altar every year. We use it as a place of honor for our loved ones pictures and memorabilia of our family and friends who have passed on. This is a bit like what it will most probably look like soon ...

During my set-up, I heard the land phone in our house ring. A minute later, I heard my husband open up the basement door and walk down the steps. I asked him what was up? He then asked me if I was doing any work or "anything weird" (as he put it) down in my altar room. I replied, "No, why?" He then showed me the face on the cordless land phone which showed that someone had tried to call us from somewhere inside the house! We have caller ID and it read with his name and our land phone number on it as if it were  dialed from inside the house. It wasn't me who called, it wasn't him, and it most certainly was not the cats. ...

This very same thing happened to my mom just a few months ago (she also has called ID on her land phone) and it happened a day before what would have been my beloved dad's 85th birthday. Coincidence? I think not. Anyway, I told my husband that it must have been someone letting us know that they are thinking of us, or they want to make sure that we have not forgotten them? For whatever the reason, I believe that we were contacted. My husband seems to think it was most likely his deceased brother because "it sounds like something he would do" as he was also Pagan. I must agree.

The other day, I picked up new bottle for us to use for our ritual to hold the ceremonial wine on our Samhain altar. However, there is still so much left to do.

A very special gift!

Good morning and Happy Monday all! I want to share with all of you a very beautiful haiku written by such a talented artist and one of my dearest of blogger friends Jan of her blog Welcome to My Thoughts, who had thoughtfully created this one for me - making it even more special to my heart! Thank you, Jan. I feel truly blessed ... and thank you so much for allowing me to share it with everyone here!

A Saturday post and a Fall giveaway

Happy Saturday to all! I hope everyone is having a good one. The weather here has been terribly humid again and the rain is actually a welcome blessing after this past week!

On Thursday after I had gotten home from dinner with my sister, I received an email from a very nice fellow Wiccan from the Wicca Web.com Pagan Community site who politely asked me if I would be willing to please write a little post regarding altars. He said that he really likes my blog and would appreciate my input on his Wiccan site. So, I sat down Friday morning and began writing the post and then I had emailed him the finished article. The article is titled, "The use of Sacred Altars" by Lady Caer Morganna - However, it has not gone live on his site as of yet and so out of respect and courtesy I have decided not to share my written post here at this time. I have included a link to his Wiccan site: https://wiccaweb.com. I have also visited his website and I have found it to be quite good. Please feel free to check it out!
