This video of Robin Gibb from the timeless trio, "The Bee Gees" singing the very beautiful song, "I Started a Joke" is in loving memory of, in my opinion anyway, one of the best lyrical artist of our time. Even though I dare say that I still love the music they had written during the Disco era for "Saturday Night Fever,"I also strongly feel that it is such a shame that The Bee Gees were, for the most part, only remembered for being the Kings of Disco music. For long before they were considered that, they wrote and sang some of the best music of the 60's and 70's!

I must admit, of all of the wonderful artist we have been saying "good-bye" to lately, this one actually did bring a few tears to my eyes. The world has truly lost one of the best!
I agree with you totally Kim! So sad!!!
ReplyDeleteWe've had a terrible loss. Their wonderous music and style will be carried on for many years to come.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more, Linda. I couldn't agree with you more ... :(
DeleteI totally agree. You know what is the strangest thing. The brothers went out of this world in the opposite order.
ReplyDeleteAndy went first, then Maurice and then Robyn. The eldest is still here.
I love their music and it is certainly a great loss !!
Blessed Be! I just came across your article here. Thank you for remembering Robin, and the amazing pre-disco songs the Bee Gees performed. I wrote something after his passing as well:
